Once more into the fray.

I've liked or loved every Bioware game I've played, including DA2. DA2 is a rushed game, but not a bad game. It's creative in many ways and I like it. Physical force? Friendship/Rivalry? These are great elements, but there are also a few disadvantages.

One that comes to mind is that the combats could do with some spicing up. The bosses add an interesting touch but they don't featue in ever battle. the mooks in DA2 don't have anything going for them. In DAO a wolf could Overwhelm. A hurlock could shield bash. And so on. This added additional element of strategy to the game. Wolves--"average"opponents--could be very dangerous if they used Overwhelm. In other words even normal enemies could not be dismissed outright.

In this game, on Nightmare, physical force and is what makes you think twice about any given mook, because a hit on anyone but your tank will knock your character back.

But I sort of wish mooks had more abilities to switch things up a little. Shield bash, pummel, bravery--these and other abilities would some spice to the opponents, make them harder to handle without making the game too long by compensating with wave after wave of combat.

Just my suggestion for future reference.
