Would people want the option to propose marriage to your LI from ME1/ME2 in ME3?

No please, I see no reason to get involved in some occult rite to signify a characters affections particularly when a good chunk of the LI's are alien ergo the religious establishment would be unlikely to recognize the bonds between the various races.

It would also look absolutely hillarious,  just saying.

Going to go ahead and say no. I love the ladies of Mass Effect, and my Sheps are willing to be monogamous if he would just stop dying, but marriage is an outmoded institution that is never even mentioned by the other races in Citadel space. Hell, my main Shep is still legally dead and runs the new Normandy like an NGO, so he doesn't need a damn tax break.

A proposal as such is not necessary (although it *would* be nice if my LI Kaidan proposed to my Shepard) but I very much want to have it made clear that he will stay with my Shepard and that they'll have a future together.Tokens of affection are always nice in RPGs, imo

You can always add a dialogue option before the proposal where shep can say he/she is not the marriage type, making the game cancel the proposal.

a better and FAR more realistic thing is if they'd just share your captains quarters on the normandy with you.

be all like "hey would you like to move into my quarters, theres enough room for both of us" and then they move from whatever room they were in before to your room. and have interactions with them up there.

This I can agree with.

that would be a nice touch but doubt that would work in reliability because they would have to have different dialogue set ups because in ME2 they used the furniture and surrounds for conversations which all those set ups would no longer work if the LI moved into the captains quarters on the normandy but  the dialogue would still work in theory.

If it's what enough fans want, I don't see the issue with including it. I wouldn't want it, but I could also ignore the option.

"I don't know. Marriage, old age, and a lot of little blue children?"

That would be an eff yeah, BTW. For those of you who don't want the option, don't use it.

if it were to happen....it would be...my femshep Arlene and Liara holding one another as they stand staring out a view port as massive explosions occur. Perhaps a moon, a star, or some Reapers. Liara casually says, "Maybe we should get married." I pick the top option which is, "Okay" the other options being "Lets talk about it later" and "at the end of the world isnt the best time to talk about this."

While I would support a "finale" to a bioware LI for once, if we are in the middle of a reaper war I don't see it happening.

I think I would support a "proposal" option in ME3, even if it was as simple as the Liara/Shepard "Happily Ever After" dialogue option at the end of Lair of the Shadow Broker. You know, where Shepard envisions them with "lots of little blue children." I'd like that with the other love-interests!

What's funny is, really liked the scene in ME2 between Jack and Shepard in ME2 before the romance even triggers, when Jack suggests "going pirate." Shepard can just kind of smile and say, "And you'd be my first mate?"

I'd definitely like that kind of dialogue option. Something simple to imply that Shepard and his/her love interest fly off into the stars, or find a nice colony, or just hang out together until they die. Because, personally, I don't care what my Shepard does after ME3, so long as he can do it with Jack. <3

If you marry the aliens, you'll never have kids of your own, though (except for Liara).

I think that's going too far.

I want something to indicate that we are more than some stupid teenagers going steady. And yeah I do want marriage, old age and a lot of little blue children for my main/canon FemShep and Liara. I fail to see how that makes the conformity standard but whatever hits your kneejerk reaction button...

I don't need a big cutscene or anything just a conversation that sets out what you'd like to do once the universe is saved. Of course it should be optional and if you didn't like it then don't take it!

Pass. I've seen enough people get **** over by vindictive, bipolar and BPD riddled exes to know marriage is a terrible idea.

So people who can't have children shouldn't get married?

They should, but when the option to have children exists, why not take it?

I know that lots of people would rather raise their own flesh and blood rather than adopt if they can help it. Getting pregnant is the dream of lots of women, too.

Heh, my Shep already proposed Liara, so I think the next step in ME3 is obvious.

DO WANT.

I can agree with this sentiment up to a point, I just think there is something more to relationships than procreation.

Hell, have all the squad marry or get in a relationship with each other.

Grunt and Jack might make a good relationship. LOL

My sentiments exactly :P more options is never a bad thing. However, I would like the male LI proposing my femshep though ;)

No.

The romances add to the story and can be great character development, but it shouldn't be taken to the point that it becomes a dating sim. I think it would be better if marriage proposals were left out, as they could easily become a little corny.

Also with the great civilizations of the galaxy being on the verge of going the way of the Protheans, it hardly seems an appropriate time to get married.
