Would people want the option to propose marriage to your LI from ME1/ME2 in ME3?

Yes for the option. Question: Why does "Marriage" mean to some setting down and staying one place? Shepard and Partner have a ship (assuming the Normandy isn’t destroyed), I can see them continuing to rescue the Universe and such.
Right. So how about this: no marrige. Just stick together, saving the galaxy and being lovey-dovey without the cheese.

Well, why not have it? It's not like they'd do it in the middle of the game. If it turns out that a Shepard (like mine, who is a Paragon) wants to settle down (he told Grunt: "I don't plan on doing this forever"), why not have the option to have settled down at the end of the game?

But what your Shepard does after the game is over could very well be left to the imagination. I think a marriage proposal would feel out of place in the game.
Tis why, and this is being said for the umpteenth time, it would be optional!
Optional- Adjective: left to one's choice; not required or mandatory -From Dictionary.com
Honestly people, if it's in the game but not something forced on you, why complain about it being there?

You do realize the question was 'do you want this', right? Or did that go over your head?shinobi602 wrote...

No. I don't want my Shepard ever settling down. It's not in her blood. I don't think it's in Garrus', either.
Good thing it would optional, but that went right over your head.
This, definitely.chelseaisthepan wrote...
However, I am perfectly fine with just a 'partner for life' thing with Garrus. Going around the galaxy, kicking ass, never settling down.

Shepard: Well, that was even better than usual.
Liara: Yes, I suppose it was, since we are bonded now.
Shepard: What?!
Liara: And by the way, I'm pregnant.

Kallen Shep: Miranda/Ashley (whoever I choose) will you marry me?
LI: Yes! so you can put your pistol down.

Marriage is not an option without stability.
Can't you at least let things settle down first and I don't know... the galaxy to actually rebuild a little... I mean the game's going to end right after you worked your ass off to save the galaxy somehow miraculously not dying so you wouldn't have had much time to settle down and there would have been no-where safe to do so anyway.
More sex? Fine with me.
Deepen the love? Also good.
Marriage? Foreshadowed if your relationship is good, but it has no place when everyone around you is dying and being blown to pieces and indoctrinated etcetera... leave that to fanfiction.

(I am not saying they get married during the ME3 but afterwards if shepherd is successful in the ME3 story) -From the OP.
Read it. Seriously.

To me, it's more important that they fight the reapers together during ME3. I hope for an happy ending, but I don't think kids and marriage are something very important in this game, I would be happy of course to see a proposal or an emotional scene, but my first concern is to see both of them alive and together at the end of the game.

-Marry them
-Stay with them in an "unofficial" relationship
-Dump them
...that doesn't show your Shepard doing any of that. Seriously, it might seem stupid when you read this but chances are people would find the game to be better with it.

I'm not saying I want some cheezy wedding scene at the end, but I also don't see anything wrong with giving an option to players that crave for such ending (marriage proposal at the end). As for my own preference, just leaving together with Kaidan (after I slapped him good) or Garrus would do the trick, but I don't see anything wrong with giving the marriage option to those that want it.
And once more, marriage is not a bad thing, muppets. People make it bad, by their own choice, but that can be said for almost anything that involves interactions between individuals (friendship, employee-worker, family...). Ah, by fighting one cliche majority gets caught in another one. Generalizations and prejudices are miraculous thing.

in its basic state, marriage is a formal commitment and slight change in legal standing. if you wait untill everything is stable, you will never marry and for some people its fine and dandy, while others - they like to take that step, because it fits their relationship. soldiers get married. on active duty no less. they even manage to have children.
world is never completely stable.
it could be nice to have an option to suggest it to your LI, and its not like it hasn't been done already.
marriage, is what you make of it, the poster above me is absolutely right. you could make it hell, or heaven, you could make it into that hope that keeps you trying just a little bit harder to make sure you have something and someone to come back to.
personaly, I wouldn't want an actual wedding to be in ME, its kind of a waste of resources IMO, better spent on actual gameplay. proposal though, a choice of one? whyever not?

But for some of the LIs marriage doesn't seem fitting, like Thane, if he isn't cured and with only weeks to spare a ceremony doesn't make a huge amount of sense, plus multiple marriages might be frowned on in Drell culture, but I'm just speculating.

@topic: a marrige proposal doesn´t seem to fit any LI and relation, also not every char. My MShep would never suppose a marriage to Ash. But for her it might be important, because she´s religious.
