i realised it just recently and suffered some heavy faceplam... so i had 8k attack and 70% boss hit chance... ok..

Attack is worthless if you have 100% chance vs normals. Rising primary stat wont rise it either... Only talents /buffs can get vs elite/boss hit chance to 100,
Now it wouldnt it be a problem if not so common stat on late gear - champion sets included. Only rogue gear has no +attack and funny enough rogues dont pump that high dex as cunning is great stat for them so their attack is not as high luckly they do have passives to take care of that )

BW is going for some award for making useless stats or something ?

Hmm, I just tried and you're right. It's the same for defense also. I could swear that before 1.02 I could have attack 100/100/100 and I remember I was complaining about defense that it didn't work as attack. Guess it was the other way arround and attack had a problem. Eh.

Look on the bright side though, there's a hundred and one ways to increase your attack. As a rogue you can get +20% attack from Duelist's Sure strikes passive or Precision toggle gives 20-30%. Then you possibly have a mage with Heroica aura, which gives 15%. Or a warrior with Controll giving you its bonus with Rally.

And mainly you'll be using normal attacks versus normal mobs, while taking down higher ranks with skills, for which attack doesn't matter as they always hit. Specially with a rogue. Generally it's not such a big issue if you miss an attack or two.

maybe it did work differently before, never gave much thought but i did consider it as usefull stat after %damage. Now i feel how wrong i was.

as for missing an attack or two - say that when you duel arishok - i did level just before it and took heroic aura on my mage as i didnt want to miss 1/3 of attacks lol

for mage its quite pain as you cant go above 85% (rally is just temporary) and my attacks belive hit more then varrics

Oh yeah, that's the one time I really missed some attack as a mage :D . Next time I just exclusively used skills though and just drank some potions and it worked out fine.

I wish the enemies and characters would react more when getting hit or when not getting hit, I am thinking Parries, staggering, blows glancings off armor and shields.
Instead of a pretty boring Whackamole that's basically fine when we're dealing with normal enemies but when we're looking at the large behemoth enemies... somehow the combat becomes more boring than DA:o
