I don't think it has anything to do with Fathers.  I think they mean it's a huge plot twist on level with the "Luke, I am your father." one.

Depends on your definition of "spoilerific." It's generally the same info GI revealed a few weeks back, with slight additions here and there.

Without spoiling to much The 3rd Novel Mass Effect:Retribution explains why Anderson could now be in combat.
