I swear, sometimes I feel this is the only thread on the forum where people can and will unrelentlessly bash each other, just having fun! :innocent:

It warms my heart that I can provide a place for everyone to insult each other, learn something, and enjoy themselves. I think the glue that holds everything together, though, is the insults. If I had to pick only one, it'd definitely be the insults.

Here's that Varnell fight, Mr_AFK. Sorry it took so long. I couldn't get it to compress without stuttering. Turned out my hard disk was ridiculously fragmented.

Get's a bit boring towards the end with all the walking around. I hate that map!

Haha here's my Brekker fight I promised:

Nice vid btw. You killed him so much faster... not fair!
So is that your secret technique to speed running the xebenkeck? Hmm.. I think I can still figure out a better way than that. I'll beat 34 secs yet! :)

Seriously, the only thing lacking from my all ranged party setup was the ability to kill bosses asap. That's why I subbed Hawke mage for Hawke rogue. The synergy is much better. You should see how the end of act III plays out when you have Hawke rogue backed by anders bethany and Merrill. It is an absolute bloodbath.

*34 seconds is definitely beatable. I'd say high 20's is probably as optimal as it can be.  You end up being limited by the rage demon/abominations movement speed that spawn near the book.

Yeah I suppose...
But hey, you have to keep anders in your party - I don't! I think that's a win for me right there :P

And I don't know. I would have thought I'd be limited more by the whole DYING HORRIBLE DEATHS syndrome my characters always get when they try to speed run that fight. I've only ever managed to beat it in a rather roundabout slower way (this is not leaving the room) so maybe ~20secs is a little too big a leap

You miss out on Aveline-  Haven't you seen my video? She's amazing!!
Plus you also don't get stagger CCCs?

Aveline is a bench warmer.. She sucks. Well that's a littler harsh.  She is in fact really good at getting stabbed in the face.  Both the warriors bring nothing in terms of DPS to the game.

And seriously, why would you care about CCC when a walking bomb does about 5 times the damage :)

Obviously someone's just not using them right.....
I mean, look at IN1's builds. He uses warriors and gets absolutely crazy damage. Sure, Hawke does have greater potential than others but still - I think in terms of general utility my aveline trumps your anders!
Haste is useless as magic resist reduces the duration to ~5sec or something stupid. There's no need to heal if you don't get injured (one of my new principles). And if he uses vengeance he becomes ridiculously fragile.

The only thing I can think of using him for is to be an elementalist and throw around all those cold spells I refuse to touch.

Also, walking bombs are nice but only good for burst damage against groups. You need to a) Disorient them (and disorienting abilities have cooldowns, B) kill the enemy you walking bomb (which can be tough if you don't have a frigging hawke assassin super ninja crazy person, c) it means you have to micro your companions (e.g. keep them close together etc) and on xbox that's pretty annoying to do.

Thus, get aveline so she can explode things and stagger things for you to explode :)

I rest my case. Aaand rest go-to-bed-style. Not sure why everyone seems to get up and become active on these boards at a ridiculously late time for me. :(

Any Act II vid requests? I'm basically still at the beginning, the only thing I've done so far is the gauntlet/Evil Tomes.

Hmm....how about Repentance (Sebastian's quest).  Don't see many videos of that.  The Bartrand fight is always entertaining.  Aaaand the Cave Crawling quest.

Also, Waxler's Hat.  I can never get past that one.

Last fight of Repentance is here. Was my first try on capturing, so only text comments. (You need to turn on CC for it.)

Since your pull is so wide, try wall loading the enemies for better grouping.  Like the opening Bartrand section they just fly about without something to stop them, if you had used the wall or a corner they would have been all clumped up for the glyph of paralysis.

Just a joke, it's a fetch quest.

Yes it is.  I thought that your audio commentary would be amusing...and educational.Image IPB

Oh, I hadn't seen that.  Cool.  Did you mod aveline to look like Cassandra?  Hot.

There seems to be an unusual number of arachniphobes that play RPGs, considering that giant spiders are an RPG staple.

Well I inclunded the cave version of the giant spider in my collection. It, unlike the deeproads spider takes atleast some skill to kill :)

HAHAHA... Hell no. I don't have a problem with spiders. My house is full of them. Huntsman spiders can be as big as my hand. I let them do their thing. :)

Added the Evelina mission again, this time with a warrior, which makes it easier (less cool than with three mages, also). :wizard:

Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

Hahahaha! Yeah, that's what you get with live commentary. Adds something to the experience, I think. :D
