Once You've Completed The Game....

I was just wondering...
Once you have completed the game can you start a second play through? If so will you stats carry over from the previous play through? So say I finish the 1st play tru on level 20. Will I start at level 20 for 2nd play through? And what about your items like weapons and armor? Do you get to keep them or when you start again do you go back to no items and level 0?
Thank you

What does NG+ mean?
Thank you
Oh, New Game +. I mean that there is no benefit to already having cleared the game.

"Rise to power" refers to Hawke rising from Ferelden refugee to Champion, not levels. If "rise to power" meant "rising in levels" then literally every game with a leveling system be considered a "rise to power" story.highcastle wrote...
Well, that's kind of the point of the game isn't it? What with it being a rise to power, it'd be kind of silly if you started with all sorts of fantabulous power...

Most RPG games DON'T have a new game feature.
Although a few do.

Probably but pretty much all JPRGS suck anyway so its not like this small loss is anything concerning.

personally I tend to prefer replaying RPGs with a significantly different character making different decisions. sadly in DA2 making different decisions just leads to the exact same consequences and often with the most ridiculous explanations as to why (if any explanation is even offered at all)
but most games that do offer NG+ tend to have more emphasis on stats, min/maxing and levelling, which while present in most RPGs tend not to be the main focus so presumably the developers feel that NG+ wouldn't be worth including

Just use mods if you have it on PC, if you are on console... well you can always whistle and fiddle

I don't remember too many JRPGs with a New Game+ feature. Chrono Trigger is actually the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Demon's Souls I guess. If you want to count that.. I don't remember a New Game+ feature in any FF, DQ VIII, Suikoden, or Wild Arms.

Gonna have to agree with that. The action in Act 3 was lackluster considering the amount of weapons you find and how you acquire them. It's like... cool, Hybris is dead and I've got this awesome sword as proof. Now what am I supposed to do with it? Everything powerful is already dead!thermalware wrote...
I think it sucks that my full tier armor is only seen almost when the game is about to end, this reduces my appetite for a playthrough even more
New Game + could have at least been used to carry over some of your equipment, if not your level... or, since all that gear has stat requirments, give Hawke some level 1 versions of elite items like Celebrant, with no stat requirements and the "evolving" attribute. Or, just make Act 3 longer, or make a 4th act or an arena or somethng... Whatever... I just wanted something to kill with that awesome gear...

Legend of Zelda 2 on the NES had NG+. I think that was the only game I played with NG+.

But tbh, all the available items from promos and DLC give you a NG+ experience already...and if your on PC then you can get the Champ gear at the start from a mod
