1. Thane- ME3 is only a few months after ME2. If what he told us is true he shouldn’t be bedridden quite yet. Tho that depends on how long it goes on for. Possibly a temp or non playable because of his illness. Tho he dose have LI armour.
2.Mordin- I love Mordin but I kind of imagine him doing somthing with the STG.
3.Samara- she did say she would leave.

In the perfect world I would have all squadmates from ME1 and ME2 plus some new ones as permanent squaddies. ME2 doubled the amount of squadmates, and it worked just fine. So, I really don't see why we can't just add VS, Liara and couple of new characters to them and have our little army on the Normandy, especially when Cerberus crew is gone and there's plenty of free space.
But, alas, I already know that this is not going to happen, so here is my list where I try to be realistic (though I'm pretty sure, it will not be that good).
Permanent Returning Squadmates
/All LIs, provided that those without plot armor survived. I think all LIs should be treated equally. It will be unfair if some get their LIs as squaddies and others will have to deal without LIs by their side just because their LIs didn't have plot armor in previous game.
/Legion. I love robots, and I want to have one on the crew. He doesn't need to go back to geth as he can connect to the network at any moment, and physical presence is not necessary.
/Mordin. He is my favourite character in the whole series, and most used squadmate in the second game, so I want to keep him for ME3. He is not a politician anyways, he has nothing to do back home.
/Kasumi. My favourite female character in both games and also one of the most used squaddies. I know that she is DLC character and many people didn't have her in ME2, but I think that there is a way around this. Think about Garrus. You could not recruit him in ME1 and still get him in ME2, only with different dialog in the beginning. Why not do the same for Kasumi? Those who bought DLC will just get additional dialog about old times and graybox.
/Grunt. I need a krogan on my crew, and Wrex is needed at home. Also, Grunt is like a son to my Shep, so I want him back.

/Samara(Morinth). Samara told that my Shep can call on her anytime, so I expect her to return at least for couple of missions. And I think Morinth will not give up attempts to persuade Shepart to embrace eternity with her.

/Zaeed. As much as I'd love to have him back permanently, I can see him leaving. Most probably he will continue his hunt for Vido or become leader of Blue Suns if you killed Vido. Maybe he will send Blue Suns troopers to help Shepard or something like that. And people who never played the DLC could hire him or something.

You have six compulsory squadmates, who you recieve fairly early on in the game, at once, without having to do any missions to recruit them:
Ashley/Kaidan - from the start
James Sanders - from the start
Liara
Tali
Garrus
Wrex
Of course, the last three may have died, if so, then you only have the first three.
Then, you have the option to recruit two other squadmates, who appear throughout the game:
Mordin
Legion
Jacob
Miranda
Jack
Grunt
Those six act as compulsory temporary squadmates or appear in very large cameo roles for one main story mission, and then you have the option of recruiting two of them permanently.

hell no that system favors the ME 1 crew more . They need to just let chose who want . because I will be pissed if Miranda and Grunt are able to be squad mates the whole time through the game .

Ok this is my character wish list you guys I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS BIOWARE PLEASE PLEASE !!!!!!!
Permenant Squad, Onboard The Normandy, Playable, and at The Character Selection Screen ready to follow Shepard till the end (all love interests options should return reguardless of gender and if they survived the suicide mission in ME2 and or Virmire in ME1 for example a male Shepard will still have Jacob, Thane, and Garrus part of his permenant squad even though they are not love interests for a male Shepard character)
Here we go....... (again these are permenant squad members and are with Shepard always and forever)
1. Ash or Kaidan (ME1 possible romance options and their the originals enough said)
2. Grunt (Loyal to Shepard from ME2, The perfect Krogan and well him and Shepard took out a giant centipede on foot enough said bioware i mean common now lol)
3. Garrus (fan favorite and female shepard love interest also loyal from ME2)
4. Legion (we did not get to play with him very long and its perfect for the story if you think about it ONCE AN ENEMY NOW A LOYAL ALLY and there is actually a geth in your squad, its a no brainer people)
5. Jack (Loyal from ME2, ME2 possible love interest, and I also want to completely destroy Cerberus for what they did to Jack with her by my side it would fit perfectly with Cerberus coming after Shepard anyway, she would embrass it)
6. Mordin ( Loyal from ME2 and a fan favorite it seems from what i've read and the fact that there is a Salarian on your squad hellooooo)

I actually want to fight Samara with my Renegade, that would be neat.
Atleast my actions would have an actual consequence and change how someone acted toward me.

3. Garrus (fan favorite and female shepard love interest also loyal from ME2)
4. Legion (we did not get to play with him very long and its perfect for the story if you think about it ONCE AN ENEMY NOW A LOYAL ALLY and there is actually a geth in your squad, its a no brainer people)
5. Jack (Loyal from ME2, ME2 possible love interest, and I also want to completely destroy Cerberus for what they did to Jack with her by my side it would fit perfectly with Cerberus coming after Shepard anyway, she would embrass it)
6. Mordin ( Loyal from ME2 and a fan favorite it seems from what i've read and the fact that there is a Salarian on your squad hellooooo)
7. Liara (ME1 possible love interest, part of the oldies but goodies, she became the Shadow Broker so very useful intel there, and just an overall central character)
8. Kasumi (I would like her to be a love interest bioware but i don't see it happening, I would however like to expand on the greybox story and see what vital info was stored on it, also she was just a fun character to have with you and I for one thought her loyalty mission was awesome and well worth it)
9. Zaeed ( Loyal from ME2 and just a great character through and through i liked his short stories and old vet/mercenay/bounty hunter personality really cool addition for me atleast an old soldier and founder of the Blue Sun Mercenaries)
10. Jacob ( Loyal from ME2, and a possible love interest for a female Shepard, Jacob trusted Shepard from the beginning he told him or her everything from the jump he is a good man and a great character to me and just really had a fellow soldier/friend mentality)
11. Miranda (Loyal from ME2 and possible love interest, Miranda was one of my favs simply because she seemed like she fit the role Kaidan once filled as Shepard's Lieutenant or kind of like a second in command or something i don't know she was just very "take charge" and nice to have on the team)
12. Thane (Loyal from ME2 and possible love interest for a female Shepard, I want to find a cure for Thane and just want to try to save him if at all possible, maybe he and his son could have a second chance)
13. Tali ( Loyal from ME2 and part of the old crew, Tali is a fan favorite and a romance option in ME2, her loyalty mission alone made my Shepard loyal to her enough said)
14. Samara (I chose Samara, never chose Morinth, Samara was loyal to Shepard in ME2 and I pretty much consider her Shepard's Guardian always looking after him, it would be awesome to bring her back by his or her side)
Ok people here are my Temporary Squad Members.......... (kind of like The Shadow Broker one mission thing which i was not really a fan of at all I wanted Liara on the selection screen, but i guess it worked out for the best)
1. David Anderson ( it would be awesome to join with Anderson during a battle, truely epic)
2. James Sanders ( don't really care about this guy to be honest just a noob)
3. Wrex ( one of my favs but his work on Tuchanka is far more important than chillin on The Normandy, I mean he has his own throne can't beat that folks he will lead the Krogans to glory just wait)
Ok last but not least The Cameos yay, clap clap booo.......(they will be gone as fast as they appear)
1. Udina ( I personally like him but he is probably corrupt or something)
2. The Council (maybe when they see 10million reapers over their heads they will believe Shepard my gosh)
3. The Illusive Man (I liked his character but his experiment is about to blow up in his face or maybe just blow his head off completely)
4. Liara's Father? (hmmmm don't really care much for that storyline unless Samara turns out to be her father WOW EPIC)
5. Any New Characters Bioware comes up with ( I think I have made myself clear on new squadmates and such I DONOT WANT THEM!!!!! You don't go through everything Shepard has gone through with those people just to say hi how are you see you later let me go save the galaxy with my all new ME3 crew and leave everyone else to their own fate no no no Bioware please don't.

First off, it would be nice to get all the LI as permanent squad members, but I would also like new members and its a bit unrealistic, so I would venture a guess that your LI from ME2 will be a permanent member, otherwise you would choose between a few or something. Bah, on to business:
Permanent:
Legion - Come on, the only Geth squad member. Before ME2, nobody would have thought it possible to have a Geth squad mate, and even if they did, it would be done in a idiotic way. BioWare, however, managed to introduce a impossible character in a awesome way. Plus, he is just plain cool.
Tali - Lets be honest, if I could have chosen Tali as an LI in ME, I would have. Its the whole mystery factor, plus it would tie in well with the Geth and the decisions in ME3.
Liara - The Shadow Broker. Nuff said. Many people like how her character evolved, but I didnt really enjoy it. The change was too radical, and dare I say, emo.
Ashley/Kaiden - Truthfully, I used enie-menie-minie-moe to pick which one survived. With Liara's change in ME2, I hope the change to this person in ME3 is a little more balanced instead of just radical.
Garrus - A cool dude, but it would be nice to see him crack a joke at least once. I mean, even EDI made a joke >> Other than that, I have no complaints. He's a pro, through and through.
Temporary:
Jack - Meh, she be too psycho for my taste, but I felt sorry for her. Hearing how she has matured in ME3, I want to see it. I kind of want her as a permanent member, but she may have a larger role to play that might render that impossible -_^
Wrex - Well duh. You already know you're going to Tuchanka, and Wrex is on your side against the Reapers, and the reapers attack Tuchanka at some point, so of course he'll team up with you at that time. Still, he is the leader of Urdnot, so he'll probably stay behind to manage things.
As for the rest, I'm too lazy to type any more

mass effect 3 should be really large scale and you should get a group of ALL races and have a big crew. I'd also love some crewmates that are just on the ship but not party members. something like specters that are there to observe and help but don't join you on missions.

Want all of them to be permanent. Normandy was rebuild by Alience. There should be place for all of them on Normandy. Cant believe Bioware is actually doing this, making temporary squad members. Not an option not an option.
better than wanting to get to see them/interact with them and all you get is an inbox note....
