So I saw that Tali wasn't on the list of confirmed characters returing in ME3 that's in the new Game Informer.

Is she not coming back in a playable (or love interest) role, or have I just not been keeping up with the news of ME3?

Newest ME3 info (LEVEL magazine) says all squadmates will be returning in some form. This does not mean that they will all be squaddies again, however.

Just sit tight and let the info trickle in.

I hope she is something of a major character. I don't really like the way Bioware keeps removing/replacing love interests. It's rough going through ME2 without Ashley at my side.

She will return yes, the question is to what extent.
They only confirmed a few in the GI article. Her not being listed does not mean she isn't coming back as a squadmate. She is a LI and popular so I'm guesing she will be back.

I think BioWare knows what kind of fanboy ragestorm is going to happen if Tali isn't back. Looking at the plot, I really think she'll be a squadmate, given that if you got her exiled, she really wouldn't have any other place to go except the Normandy. They could handwave/lampshade anything, but something tells me that if Garrus is coming back, Tali will too.

She's coming back according to the ME wiki she has "unfinished business" with shephard AWWW YEAAAAAH

It won't be that long for me. Have Witcher 2 pre-ordered and a bunch of Shepards to prepare for ME3's arrival.

I only recently started playing the ME games so I've got catching up to do.

No she isn't coming back. Liz Sroka (her voice actor) was eaten by a grue and Tali will now die a noobish cutscene death.

Squaddi or not, I hope we get a nice LI reunion, some nice dialogue + a nice cutscene.

The Playstation 3 Magazine article is where the wiki quote is taken from. Whether she'll be playable or not is pure speculation, but she will most definitely be back.

These speculation threads are silly. Of course Tali will be in ME3. According to GI's interview with Casey Hudson, he takes a lot of information and feedback from these very forums. Seeing as how an entire CULT (re: Talimancers) has developed around Tali, you can expect that she'll be there in one way or another. Also, seeing as how this is the final game, there is no room for the disappearing act that the Virmire survivor played in ME2 (which was planned to have the effect it did, by the way).

ANYWHO. The best way to find out for sure is to wait for real official information directly from Bioware on this stuff. We've all already seen the power of stupid assumptions made by third parties and their power over the frothing-at-the-mouth/jump-to-conclusion fanboys/girls.

I really want Tali back. But that article is not reliable at all.

About 50% of it is guesswork without any evidence or opinion.
For example, the PS3 Magazine also said that Thane will only have a minor role to play because he was one of the least favourite characters.

Despite the fact that he has one of the most unfinished story arcs out of all the characters.

i bet she'll be back. personally i dont really like her all that much.
but she's really popular with people, she's been in both games as a squadmate, i see no reason why she wouldnt be in the third.

they dont want ot confirm everyone right away, they want to tease you with tidbits of info only confirming a couple characters at a time to build up all that hype.

they announced the VS and garrus as confirmed squadmates because, well. it was obvious lol

She'll be back. Don't worry. She may not be as important a character, but she'll be back.

Bioware is good to its customers.

I never used her. She was never my favorite. But she seems to be really popular...with you guys. I liked Legion a whole lot better. He was a whole lot more fun to talk to, too.

You know what, I agree. She was the weakest in 1 and she was weak in 2. I loved her side-quest, though. I brought Legion onto the Flotilla and BOY was that fun!

While Tali is my favorite character I might be OK if there was a really good reason why she wasn't playable. While I would like to see more Wrex or Liara they are in good roles already and I don't want them leaving the roles if it is purely for "fan service".
