By the way, I love mass effect and most of their dlc is amazing, but let's face it the mass effect is bioware's dream team while the new dragon age team feels like second string, I never was saying anything about mass effect because of their different team working on it but if you enjoy putting words in my mouth go ahead, make my day
do you like the appearance packs?

Seriously? After the tremendous outcry from the fanbase for some sort of compensation for the (now) months of waiting on patches to fix game breaking bugs, glitches and freezes, we get...
Three item packs, each of which include one set of armor and a weapon, for $3 each, a la Mass Effect.*
*worth mentioning though not altogether related that it is disturbing to see just how much DAII is borrowing from ME's success, rather than being left to make its own way as a franchise.
How is it possible some people are actually surprised by this DLC? I mean really now... come on. Anybody with half a brain knew this kind of stuff would be coming sooner than later. If they are planning story based DLC, I would think they are most likely taking some time with it, so they can minimize the nerd outrage (when it isn't perfect) as much as possible. This stuff is extra for people that like collecting items.
My only complaint (and the reason I dont see myself ever buying any of it), is the fact that costs a bit too much. I don't have a problem with them charging for items, just be a bit more reasonable with the prices.
But if you are really that offended I'd suggest you prepare yourself for even more dissapointment, as I don't see this being the last of the item packs for DA2. I'm still surprised they didn't go with a costume/appearance pack for companions first though.

it was "alternative universe" dlc dude you played as the darkspawn invading Denerim, you got to kill Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana, etc. while defending the archdemon, it was a ton of fun and way more satisfying than most of the crap released for DAO, fun concept > boring concept
It was a paint job. Just replace the Darkspawn that you had to kill at the end of Origins with Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Qunari, go to the exact same locations that you went to during DAO and BUM! "new" content.
At also made me feel like my actions in the original game were pointless. So my character dies and Alistair does pretty much everything I would have done on his own anyway. Hell, Denerim is even a whole lot harder to defend than when I'm alive and if it wasn't for the fact that Alistair seems to have forgotten how to fight properly during the fight with the Archdemon (i.e. cover your party members and don't let me pick them off one by one) he would have won.
So... yeah, that thing made me feel like I was completely irrelevant, thanks for that.

I think the dream team would be having Gaider as the lead designer/writer, with the rest of the DA writing team (and ME team as well, I think there was a lot of cross-franchsising going on), and the ME gameplay/level designers. With Epler in charge of cinematics.
The DA team was far from "second string."

i think you're taking the darkspawn chronicles way too seriously...
besides all bioware games fail if you look at them from the perspective of the villians

Yes, at least they had them, while they didn't offer anything other than superficial things, they were well within the price range for such items, so yeah I like them because they not only were well within their price range, they were also offered alongside other dlc so when I purchased the meaty dlc with ms point left over, I could purchase the little things like the appearance packs, and at least the appearance packs were in a higher resolution than the crap in this dlc
so you like them because they were personally convenient for you
because the appearance packs for ME2 are the very definition of "bad milking dlc"

The one writer from Bioware I truly adore is Lukas Kristjanson (sp?). He wrote the City elf origin in DAO which just blew me away. If he were lead on a DLC, I'd think pretty hard about buying it..

Aren't ponies like horses, mythical beasts oft talked of but never seen the DA world

The item pack is most likely the same quality dlc we will receive for a good while so I think my post is pretty accurate considering we had return to ostagar at this point but hey, if you like it I don't care, I don't like it so why do you care?
Actually, RtO wasn't out until about 3 months after the release of DA:O.

Most people on here just complain for the sake of complaining. Mainly the Origins fanboys/fangirls. They could release a DLC better than LotSB and people would complain about it not being free / "obviously cut from the main game as a cash grab" / etc.

Gobbledigook - I've been very critical of DA2 - if Bioware want to release a couple of items of loot as a DLC and people are daft enough to buy it, then let them - the OP needs to get over it - Bioware must have knocked this DLC out in 5 minutes - it's not detracted from time spent on patching the game - and btw the game is beyond patching.
I'll reserve my fire for the actual game - and LotSB was genius and well worth the money - apart from the nerfed sex scene of course.
And - I have nothing against My Little Pony - it's a charming past-time for girls from 2 to 12 - but Bioware needs to ask themselves why so many of their DA2 supporters are drawn from their ranks.

Your clever jab against my person has wounded me deeply, my good sir. It had not occurred to me the depths of simplicity I had fallen to enjoy Dragon Age 2 and how far I must climb to achieve proper gamer status once again.Pygmali0n wrote...

I agree that this is not a best time for Item Pack DLC, when everybody is enraged, but still it's very nice armor sets after all.

OP:
I am not sure I get what it is you want?
You
are clearly not experiencing game stopping bugs, as you have completed
the game. You say that you are experiencing bugs that are limiting your
enjoyment of the game.
So you want something for free from Bioware, because you don't enjoy the game as much as you had expected you would???
And by the way - we all got a free copy of Mass Effect 2, which is a game still worth $20. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png
Your logic for all those points is totally flawed. You assume (never a good idea) that A) just because I finished the game means I never ran into game stopping bugs. There are well known complex workarounds for many of them. What if I had to totally avoid using and experiencing certain characters and their relationships simply to progress?
I'll say again, please stop assuming to know what my gameplay experience was. I have no clue as to why my personal playthrough is being put on trial here with all the hundreds of possibilities it could have had that led to me forming this discussion.
Let me state the facts here:
Bioware released DA2, bugged and glitched so that it was not playable in the way they themselves admitted they intended it. As of yet, they are not done patching it so that people may play it properly. In addition, they have released DLC as if business were being conducted as normal. How am I the crazy one for feeling that is a poor message to send to your customers particularly after being so adamant that they are listening to our concerns with this franchise and weighing their options carefully?
I am not complaining about DLC as an idea. I'm not complaining about the item set itself. What I am saying is that the correct move would have been to make such a small DLC like this complimentary for those of us who have not been able to have the full DA2 experience as intended despite our purchase. Or, an alternative would have been to create a more in-depth DLC, or just something meant to be a little bonus, a nod to all of us that we and our opinions matter. All of this speculation on personal motivations for not wanting to buy this DLC is totally irrelevant. It is also just speculation, which every one of us is ill-equipped to level upon any fellow poster.
If this DLC was so quick and easy for Bioware to churn out, why not just make it a free gift? That would certainly have said so much more to the notion that "Bioware is the company that cares" than "by the way we're still working so that some of you can pick the game off the shelf but here's $9 worth of extraneous stuff if you want it"

On topic, if you don't like the DLC, don't buy it. If enough people agree with you, then Bioware/EA will get the message.
