Hi. I'm a chaotic good, male human and I have Aerie in my party. I like her but she is miserable. I almost lost her when she said she wanted to leave but I managed to convince her to stay. But I feel like it's only a matter of time until she leaves because she never stops moaning. It's got so bad she's talking about wanting to just lay down and die.

So far my approach to her as been with gentle kindness and encouragement. Is that not the best approach?

Is there something I can do to help her? Get her new wings or something?

I haven't looked this up because I don't want to read too much and spoil something for myself. So could someone give me a hint as to what I'm doing wrong and if there's something I can do to help her?

As far as I remember you're doing the right thing. It does take her a long time to get over the minor misfortune of having her wings chopped off, but if you're not nice to her she will probably pack up and leave. I've never got as far as ToB, but I hear she is a stronger character there.

From the title of your post, it seemed that you must be having some success! LOL

Check the global variables in Shadowkeeper. Find the value "AERIEROMANCEACTIVE". If this equals 1, you are still at "first base". If it is at two, then that is "past first base". If it equals 3, then you have blown it completely. Give up. There are other fish in the ocean.

If you want to romance Aerie, you have to accept that she is a compulsive moaner and groaner. It will help a little if you have Minsc in your party and things will liven up if you keep HaerDalis around.

I found Viconia's "push & pull" tactics even more annoying, to be honest.
