i have read about enabling the dev console from various sites the only problem i have us that the daorigins.exe in computer>(c:)>program files (x86)>dragon age>bin_ship folder is not an there. instead there is an app titled daorigins (with no .exe at the end) which iv tried to substitute for the daorigins.exe mentioned in the instructions on how to enable the console but it doesnt work. there are no quotations and i coud not identify a "target" field in the properties of the app. just wondering if anyone was knowledgeable about this and is in a helping mood.

Did you ever solve this? I tried getting into the panel as well in W7 x64 and failed miserably. I even tried making my own shortcut from scratch with the appropriate switch in the command line to no avail.
