I can't continue in this quest. The game constantly crashes inside the mansion. I have been saving the game every few steps but I have reached a point where saving is not possible due to a very long fight with the shades and during this fight game sooner or later, but before I finish the fight, crashes . High details or low, high-res textures or no, directx 9 or 11, anything just doesn't matter, the game will crash.

Since you didn't have sufficient interest in an answer to follow the forum SOP, the comments have been ignored for the past year. You should not have expected anything better.

wow! now, even on my new hardware it is still the same. there is clearly something wrong with the game.

well, well... it just keeps getting "better and better". the crashing is not confined to this quest alone. it crashes all along the game. i've even tried to play on DX9 (on my completely new computer with Ivy Bridge and Asus GTX670 DC2 TOP!). guess what?! nothing has changed. i'm not able to play the game after more than one year from releasing!
how do i get a full refund? i believe this should be covered by EU laws. this product has proved not to work on two completely distinct PC builds. i should be eligible for a full refund.

Considering the hundreds of thousands of people who DO have it working, I'd say your issues are more... individual.
But feel free to take up the matter of a refund through whatever vendor you used to acquire the product.

i've tried "famous" Kbott's settings, i've tried underclocking my video card, i've probably tried any possible advice given on these forums... and everything without effect. i just don't know what else could i possibly do
