I didn't think he looked that bad.

Define "that".

Got to see only "Alistair as the Grey Warden" appearance and it felt pretty solid. Not the apperance/armour which for whatever reasons transferred pretty odd looking, but the dialogue and how the whole thing was put together, was ok.

So that people deny that he was there, or it needing to have dozens of threads about it. I might be biased as I didn't study him as intently as an average Alistair fan would though.

Haven't seen his GW appearance, but the king one worked decently up until the end. Then came the "swooping is bad" line which actually made me cringe.

Edit: Apart from that, none of the cameo's I had bothered me. Zevran looked a bit different, but then again, all elves did.

Here you are:

I'll leave it to you to decide wheter this was the best of his three cameos. I personally thought it was. Much better than him being a drunkard.Image IPB

Or having to deal with that douche Stroud.Image IPB

Bad, awful, yes, but fixable at least.

He acted like Alistair, sounded like Alistair, so I was grateful for that, but his appearance.....

Thank the Maker for Mods.

It's odd how Cullen looks the same, yet still good compared to everyone else.

Cullen changed. But the only one who's appearance actually improved between games.

I should of clarified. He changed, but i knew just seeing him that he was Cullen.

It still looked like him, even if he had changed.

I prefer new Isabela and Merril.

I was a bit shocked when I finally got my Alistair cut scene to see him looking like that. Tis frustrating because you can tell the basics are there but its almost as if they had trouble fitting him on the new meshes.

Yes, yes, I know age changes a persons face but his nose is completely different (its missing the hawkish down turn at the end) and his skin just looks dirty? I guess that's how I'd word it.

I was referring to cameos but you're completely correct. I should have included them. I particularly loved the Isabela upgrade (which should suprise absolutely no one...)

The cynical part of me thought - "is this part of the 'OMG DA2 is so much better,' campaign they seem to be on, so they made the DAO characters look terrible."

Conspiracy!!! :P kidding - kind of...

I was on vacation, and it was two-thirty in the morning and I was steamrolling through act three. I realized I sounded insane, and decided maybe I needed a drink. Or some sleep.

Seriously - they look terrible. Zevran got hit the worst with the fugly stick, Alistair looked like a young WC Fields. Teagan made me want to cry - I didn't even know who he was at first.

Have you actually listened to the "swooping reference"?
Can you honestly say that you could watch it without cringing?

Although to be fair, not all of Alistairs dialogue is that bad. I think it stands out more because most of the writing in Bioware games is excellent, the random stinker just stands out.

I wonder if any of the writers are going to take the rap for that line; or will they all try to ignore it like a fart in an elevator.:D

I can. I take it that the cheese was intentional. I dunno, was I supposed to cringe when Flemeth said "What have we here?" the same way Morrigan did too? I cringed more at Isabela's "big boats" comment and her "apostitutes" comment and her "canticles of Isabela" comment, and at Flemeth's big speech about "change."

You must cringe a lot then Filament.

Btw, I hate your avatar. It makes me itchy to play MotB. I can't right now, because it would suck me in completely, and I don't have the time right now. p)

Nah; one of the devs (i can't remember which one, it could be Mr.Laidlaw but not sure) before DA2 was released posted something to the effect, "If some major DAO characters make an apperance in DA2, we'll put effort into making them look as close to their DAO looks as possible".

yeah, i know Image IPB

I've built up a fair amount of bad Isabela joke resistance at this point, the cringing is only minor now.

Ignoring Ugly Alistair is the only thing you can do. I try to, but then these threads remind me. I usually end up under my sheets, crying like a small child. Just so painful.

I can only imagine the possible horror of DA2 cameos in DA3, or Origins cameos. Sweet Maker the horror!

But you both summed up my feelings on the dialogue. That line was painfully done. They should have stuck with Cassandra's version of the line. Was much subtler.

As a Teagan fan...that really bothered me. I prefer the old Teagan.

Poor Teagan, if DA3 follows the same pattern as DA2 he'll end up looking like this:

You are of course aware the Cassandra also makes a swooping reference :)
I didn't mind, it's a running gag now, it's cool.

The voices and cameos were nices. Alistair's looks was bad, but Zevran's new look was like an immersion nuke

Thank the Maker for mods. :kissing:

Making the swooping reference wasn't bad. It was the way it was delivered and the animation that went along with it. It just screamed, "Look! You all loved this line and I said it again! It's awesome! Right? Right? RIGHT?"

The only thing that bothered me about Zev was his eyes. Aside from that I think he looks okay. Those eyes...
