And the fact that sales are still dropping despite them giving away their best selling game to date for free...speaks volumes.

What if... and I know this is crazy.. But what if...someone liked FPS's AND RPG's??
What if the same guy that plays Call of Duty.....plays Dragon Age??
I'm just sick of the prevailing attitude on this board that people who play Call of Duty or it's ilk are a completely different(and inferior) species to RPG players.. or that someone can't actually like both genre's. It's not only incorrect, but it's also stupid.
Blame Bioware.
Bioware makes epic RPG DAO.
Bioware says DA2 will be geared towards Call of Duty players.
Bioware dumbs down DA2.
What does that say about how Bioware views CoD players? And by treating CoD players as stupid Bioware didnt gain their business and pissed off their existing fanbase.

Ouch.
The trend lol.
Man seriously, i hope the big guys at EA are looking at something similar? They might have made profit with lower production cost and preorder but next game isnt gonna dish out the same result. For ppl that should be used to handling money they seriously cant think ahead.

I think most games still typically sell most their copies in the first 3-4 weeks of availability, but they should at least be moving *something* at the second-month mark.
I'd prefer no layoffs. I know I was thinking last night, and one of David Gaider's posts popped into my head; he said something to the effect that we would get snark as long as Mary, Sheryl, and Luke were still around (or at least, that's the only part I remember of it; I remember because I was going to joke that Luke was the real third member of the estrogen trio). I briefly wondered if that was a subtle hint that he would be leaving soon (or has to work on TOR now, which is basically the same thing). Unpleasant thoughts.

It's hysterical to me how even the Mass Effect 2 promotion couldn't save this mess. I would not be surprised at all if they just stopped supporting it. Supposedly there's another patch due out soonish... I don't know for sure since the tech help sections have pretty much run out of people who care to ask. They might have 1 story based DLC pieced together with bits they decided to hold out of the original game so it doesn't take much extra work, but beyond that it's a waste of resources to sink any more time into this waste of a game.
I predict Bioware layoffs soon.
That was never going to have a massive effect (sorry could not resist that one) when it was only being offerered as PC download.

Nope, it is incorrect. EA's finacial reports state that they sold in which is finacial/corp talk for shipped/sold to retailers.

And shooting oneself in the foot. That's what they get for not taking the fan's concerns to heart before the release of the game.
But they sold over 2 million !
Guess thats explains why there are shelves of DA2 in the local stores.
Nah, its a 4chan conspiracy... Wait! They're even more organised than we thought, and have the power to manipulate consumers. My God! Run for the hills!

I agree!
I play Halo reach and I enjoy how mindless I can be when I play it. Sometimes I just don't want to think at all and just shoot at everything that moves. (of course some think before they shoot and they often do better than me)
None the less I enjoy RPG games that provide dephth and challenge, thus there is no need to "streamline" or "dumbdown" to apeal to players like me.
Its like chocolate and pizza. I like both, but i don't want them mixed together.

Nope. Closest there is is that EA finacial report, which a link to was posted on one of these 2 million sold pages. getting ready for work, so if no one does, i'll link it later
vgchartz is good for seeing the overall trend of sales and how healthy a game is doing.
