Guys, TROLL IN THE DUNGEON!!!! Thought you'd like to know." *faints*

Seriously he can't figure out the quote button, you think he will understand "sold in" means sold to retailers not consumers? Come on...

You, my friend, are a legend.

I know, but its irking me! ERYNNAR ITS IRKING ME! Plus, I'm not stating numbers as fact. I am giving a rough estimate by selling trends.

And since the EA report ends for March 31st, and crysis 2 was launched on March 22th,24th,and 25th, according to Volourn, that means Crysis2 sold 2+ million in one week.

I guess I missed the huge EA celebration page about that one.

Trolled like duck.

I suggest sleeping over the issue and waking up to the epiphany that being irked AND declaring it on the internet is simply a form of victory for Volourn (assuming he/she/it) is trolling. I am reasonably certain every so often though about his status as a troll. Simply because no person can be so dense. It must be a pretense.

Proof?

IIncoming vghcartz quote. L0L

Until you give me actual trustworthy proof, I'll stick with the 2mil number.

What could possibly make vgchartz untrustworthy? They are a simple reporting network and have no vested interest in how good or poorly sales are for any game.

"There were several reasons EA started off 2011 in the black, and they were called Dead Space 2, Dragon Age II, and Crysis 2. All of the titles were released in the January-March quarter, and each has shipped more than 2 million units, according to the megapublisher. Sales of Dead Space 2 were 40 percent higher than for the original game during a comparable period, the company reported."http://www.gamespot....eatures;title;1

This is what was reported "shipped" not sold. Try doing a little research it's all out there easy to find.

Thanks.
YOu could use the following to guess the week 1 Online sales of DA2 and add it to the current prefactor of your fucntion: 663596,8146

http://gamasutra.com...llion_in_Q1.php

THis will give you the OVERALL sales of DA2 across all platforms online and hard-copies.
YOu will have to make two assumptions though: The steam sales are 30% of all online sales (Its supposed to closer to 50%l but lets give DA2 a wide birth) and the same function holds for Online sales as well.

Sounds Boring. But depends on you.  ;)

cheerio! :wizard:

EDIT: Before you forget, that 105K is a cummulative number. YOu will have to fit a function for cumulative sales. So I was wrong earlier. But you still have all the data to do this.

I gave up giving him the benefit of the doubt a while back.

@Nepp *giggles* you could teach a wall by smacking it with your head. It would be less painful, and more productive.

Off Topic: as an outsider, with "no dog in this fight" I got to say you guys make my day with almost every post - and Volurn is kind of like the fat guy in a Abbot and Costello routine ("Who's on first..."). Whether it is deliberate or not - it is hilarious to watch.

On Topic: uh, the sales figures/trends look really bad. Could someone create a current graph comparing DAO with DA2 - or did I miss it earlier in the thread?

I try to be entertaining. I amuse myself a lot, does that count?

I wonder what those estimated charts by week 17 look like with DAO's actual week 17....

Does anyone really think that any of the new cast are as memorable or popular as Morrigan, Allistair and even Leilana? Good God, there are Allistair fan clubs and I saw someone in a homemade Morrigan t-shirt last week.

None of this could be fairly gleaned from the Demo. Everyone is entitled to their opinion...but I think the general sales outlook is the proof in the pudding in terms of the fan consensus.

No. I love Alistair and was crushing on him for MONTHS even after playing DA:O. When I saw him in DA2 I even got a bit teary eyed!

But...DA2. So... not... at all ... even close... to being into it.

I am just so apathetic with it I suppose. The characters all felt dead to me, it was a HORRIFIC alteration from the ****y-yet-very-realistic Morrigan who was a cynical woman.

Morrigan:
"When I got that mirror my mother smashed it on the ground."

Me:
"Oh you poor thing!" *WRONG!!!!!!!11*

"Rofl, douche!" *WRONG!*

"You learned your lesson from it." *CORRECT!* DING DING DING.

I just cannot even compare the two... Alistair still is so dreamy... would love to have a man like him in my life. Mine really can't compare :P Alistair was a stretch of shy mixed with confidence and introversion and kindness. The perfect man!

I know this of this place, read about it in a book once... it could help... relieve you of your sanity. Reasonably close to Australia or Argentina, fancy a trip to the Antartic?

That's all that VGChartz gives is ten weeks because it's suppose to be used as part of a consumer's guide choice.  Which makes it relevent for about ten weeks.  After that, you can expect the price to be dropped which changes the value of purchasing the game.  Each has their own indifference curve to how this will effect them in purchasing the game or not.
