I like Leliana based off the FMV we saw, looked damn sexy and capable. Her ingame video was a tad weird and ingame looks nothing like her character (big pouty lips...eh? Very open face/eyes....eh?). I'm HOPING she isnt a complete Chantry nut job, because if I have the option I'll be against those damn fanatics! (City Elf Mage).

I have been reading the spoiler forum very carefully, but people seem to state conflicting things. One claims it's Morrigan, others say it's Leliana. So which one is it?

Right, I hope she doesn't tell you:  'Well, I don't really like girls at all!  But, Bioware needed a volunteer to be the lesbian romance option.  First, the writer asked Wynne.   She laughed and said she was to old to be going through a 'collegiate-lesbian' phase.  Next, the writer asked Morrigan, who just rolled her eyes and walked away.  Finally, the writer came to me and . . . and asked me very politely if I would do it and I said yes!  I just, I just couldn't say no . . . "

I really don't think this is the case, though

I actually think: (spoilers!):




She hesitates more with a woman, not because she needs to warm up to the idea of being with a woman, but b/c she was in love with some woman in her past who broke her heart (this is her character quest, according to the guide).  She may actually fall harder in love with women than men, which is why she is more cautious with them.   That's what I'm going to think, until someone with the power to do so corrects me!

@Erruk: I don't really see how an in-game lesbian/gay romance is any more gross than an in-game heterosexual romance. I would expect that you simply believe that homosexual relations are gross as things-in-themselves. Given the dissatisfaction of LGBT community over their lack of representation within games, there would therefore be no way to please both you (and those like you) and them. A decision that could prove as controversial as this likely was the subject of market research by EA/Bioware, and they determined that it would be profitable. The free market has spoken.

I think it's pretty cool BioWare implemented same sex romances in the game. As someone who's bi, there's nothing wrong with having a sexual relationship with the same sex. Happens more often than you think...



Anyways, what I want to know is if there's any significance to the DA:O plot/story if you happen to romance Zevran as a male or Leliana as a female...that would be interesting.

No one knows yet how Leliana/Zevran's romance (same or opposite sex) affect the story, if they even do.
