1. The concept.

Very similar to my Anderfel build, only built around the Edge of Night spirit one-handed axe.

The main difference is you cannot really have full +spirit accessories and apparel set in Act I: +spirit robes, gloves, boots and amulets are shoppable at Mage Goods/Herbalist. I wasn't able to acquire any +spirit rings, belts or helms this way (and I'm quite persistent). That's not a huge issue, since in Acts II and III you will have access to unique +spirit accessories and apparel.

It is possible to purchase all tomes and Fallen Star before the Deep Roads expedition with this build (~110 g), if you are a greedy completist and strike a deal with Dougal. Do it, you have nothing else to spend money on, anyway: level 5 spirit gear is dirt-cheap.

Stats distribution: you'll need to dump 1 point into Mag if you use the same pre-buff setup I use (Enchanted Silverite Belt, Meghan Vael's Locket, Fallen Star, Ring of Resilience). I strongly suggest investing the rest into Dex.

Well, not really. Don't worry, it's still a Str build.

Personally, as a predominantly solo player, I don't find the new items overpowered. Powerful, no doubt, but not idiotically overpowered, like most of DAO DLC items. They make soloing less tedious. However, I doubt they will make a huge impact if you play full party. The weapons are nicely balanced: the Edge of Night deals epic 8 spirit dmg at level 5, thus preventing possible exploits (cf. Desdemona's 17 nature or Anderfel's 20 fire).

2. Soloing ARW.

This video both showcases the build, and, hopefully, demonstrates how should ARW's physical attacks be dodged. I let the ARW hit me twice just to get the Frenzy bonus, otherwise, you should be able to dodge him consistently. Also note how useful the evolving Courage shield is as an elemental resistance booster.

Oh, by the way, I had that discussion about the single biggest damage-booster some time ago: now it's official, Sacrificial Frenzy is the biggest damage-booster. It's not another +99% additive bonus (the description can be interpreted this way, too), it's a x2 multiplier to the bonus Blood Frenzy provides.

Another great build!
A question: Is having Control on necessary? Or does it just improve the amount of time it takes to fall ARW?

I just love shamelessly stacking those mutually exclusive, hehe, modes. It's not necessary, but every little bit helps (I have upgraded Control).

Had a laugh when you remained outside when it activated the red-aoe attack. At least they don't have an +all resistance rune.

Your signature reminds me that I had plans to rework the SW Archer section of my Efficient Approach guide. Missed a couple of gearing options there. The thing is, I have little motivation to go back to DAO/A after a much cleaner combat system that DA2 offers... Eh, whatcha gonna do, the guide is not going to update itself.

Another great elemental solo build by you.

Really liked the way you evaded/immuned ARW attacks, and then when he was on the ground... roflolmao, it's very cool, but 100% ligthning res realy is an abuse of in-game features... I liked to read that this will get nerfed.

Well about the Migth & Control at the same time... well another, "in-game feature" (normally called bug-exploit), but since it has no impact on your great build I don't could care less if you opt to use it or not.

Btw, just a question. If you make a solo build, and play the game solo on NM, do you play all the time solo, or just the more challenging fights? (You know, to finish off the generic spawns faster, since you know you could beat them solo on NM and proving it for the nth time would be a waste of time) Or are you using the console to jump to the hard fights? (there is a beardless dwarf missing on the avatar list in the vid...)

It still has its draw and appeal.

Well, that's the one and only instance 100% resistance to a specific element means a lot in this game. Dragons are a bit easier if you are fire-immune, but really...

Yeah. You don't even have to activate them quickly. They are just... not mutually exclusive :)

That really depends. This time, I've done it totally alone, since I wanted to see if I can afford all tomes + Fallen Star the absolutely legit way. The console was used to remove the "locked" companions during certain quests. Otherwise, they tank for you, even if you set them on Passive/Hold Position. I've also opted not to use mabari (actually, mabari is really fun to use with Anderfel build).

I see you are using Robes of the Empowered Circle. As best I can see these robes require only 14 magic and 14 willpower to equip. However, the same robes offered in my game require 21 magic and 21 willpower to equip. I am puzzled by this. Is it because I am trying to buy them at level 11?

That's correct. Generic items at vendors scale to your level (with minor fluctuations: +/-2, I think). That is why I always emphasize the need to acquire full +elemental apparel set you will use in Acts I-II at level 5. The same robes require 14 Mag/14 Wil at level 5.

True. It's just that I think it would be better if there was a cap like in DAO... maybe the dev team made it this way because of the high FF damage?

Yeah. You don't even have to activate them quickly. They are just... not mutually exclusive :)

Sadly true. Sometimes it works sometimes not... don't know why.

Thanks for the answer:).
