Play Crysis 2 on PS3, and see how bad it looks like compared to PC. Yeah i think you get my point.

And yes i am a graphic geek with video games (sorry).

But Crysis 2 for the PC is a console port, the differences are so minute because of that.  I think an accurate representation would be the Cryengine 3 for Crysis on the consoles, compared to the PC's Cryengine 2.  You'd be able to see just how badly the console version has to cut down on certain visual content just to run smoothly enough for the same game.  Some of it is pretty bad.

honestly. just pick whatever form you prefer playing on.

personally i prefer my RPGs on the PC and my actiony games on the console but thats me.
since i tend to play RPG's for longer intervals at a time i like to chat with people over steam and other IM services while i play.

usually graphics, framerate, that type of stuff is fairly minimal between consoles and depends on your PC for PC. (for some reason my PC runs ME2 alot better than ME1, both steam versions, i guess they optimized ME2 much better or something)

interface is generally not a big issue either way, i've played ME1 on both the PC and 360, i'd say interfacewise they're about equal. bioware is pretty good about that.

Still so sure about that?

Oh noes! an unfortunate event has happend that Sony has no way of controlling! Worst company ever!
Seriously, get a clue. It's like you think Sony intended for this to happen.

I have a PS3, and honestly even if I was still playing games on it still after I got my great computer, I wouldn't be upset about the mishap Sony had, and the PSN "crisis".  We're not paying for the internet access anyway, so I see no reason to complain.  Downtime is expected for almost everything.  Why should Sony's situation be any different?  I'm sure every company has had their royal screw up moments.

The only difference now is people are pointing and laughing at Sony instead of Microsoft for example.  I'm sure at a certain time, the position will change at who everybody is laughing at.

Between X360 and PS3, the PS3 version is better because it's only one disk.

The frame rate difference alone should make you get it for PC. By looking at my 360 game, it looks like there is a bout 20-30FPS. Everything is so jittery. Not to mention the jaggies, and the 720p.

Everything is clear and smooth at 50-60FPS on PC with 8xaa, it looks damn amazing.

I'm sorry, i just bought a gaming PC after years of console playing, and am still amazed at the difference in quality. In the end, whatever you played ME1 on, then play ME2 on that system. If you haven't yet played ME1, THEN GO PLAY IT.

I assume it's best on PC do to mods and the higher quality of visuals. Unfortunately, I don't wish to spend 100s of dollars a year upgrading my PC and since my laptop (even if it is decently powerful) probably couldn't run the startup screen I played on Xbox. It wins hands down IMO (vs PS3) if not just for the fact your playing it as a trilogy which is what is was made to be. Plus the controller is much better (you don't have to use the D-pad that much so PS3 controllers lose the only advantage. Before you say that I'm biased because I just have an Xbox, I played with a PS2 controller all my life and I assure you that the PS3 controller is worse than both by a lot). Oh and the small fact that one system got embarrassingly hacked and that the company who makes it is crap (Sony... why did you have to reboot Spiderman? For this I hope you slowly crumble). Poor PS2, it's offspring has many birth defects.

As for the 2 disk thing, I wouldn't care if they made ME3 four disks to be honest. It is such a minor problem it shouldn't even be brought up. It takes like 30 seconds to load the other one and that is less than a loadscreen on Fallout NV for sure. So be thankful. And you only have to change it like twice in a fullstory playthrough.Posted Image

As for everyone laughing at Sony now, I'm pretty sure everyone was laughing at them 2005-2008. After that, excellent first party titles came out. Gotta give those devs a lot of credit, they are the sole reason anyone even looks at a PS3. And I can't remember any royal mishaps Micro$oft made on the Xbox. Maybe letting Halo Reach get leaked but that is about it. As for my computer problems... MS you need to get it together.

RELEASE MASS EFFECT FOR THE Wii

if you have a PC that can handle the game, and more, I recommand PC first and right off the back, mass effect can be really fun. But if not. I say X-box 360. The game was originally made for the x-box. PS3 has Mass Effect 2 and DLCs, but it doesnt have Mass Effect 1. Which contains most of the bulk story of Mass Effect series (so far), and really opens up and influnces the Mass Effect 2 game. So in the long run, Mass Effect for the X-box is better, because you get more story and gameplay from the Mass Effect series. And its really good. In my opinon Mass Effect 1 (despite its technical problems of the Mako and hassle Inventory), is a masterpiece, and a beautiful made RPG. Probably one of the best RPGs ever made. Its a great and unique experince, nothing like I ever played before. Thats why I think X-box is better, just using Mass Effect 1 as one reason is. If PS3 had ME1 in their systems, I probably recommand it. But since it doesnt, if you want to get the most out of Mass Effect series, it has to be xbox, hands down.

As for which version is best...

If you have a pretty decent system and aren't bothered about achivements/trophies then it's has to be the PC because of the higher res textures and quicker load times.

If you are  bothered about achivements/trophies then it has to be the Xbox as you get the full experience by getting to play the superior ( in my opinion ) ME1 before playing ME2.

Failing that, get the PS3 version. Yes it has slightly better graphics than the Xbox version, but you don't get to play ME1, it's full of glitches and you get your account details hacked because of Sonys incompetence.

Last bit, exaggeration, every version has bugs.   I also doubt the severity of the situation, and it's being driven out to be more than it is by certain groups.  Everybody isn't in life threatening danger like people are making it out to be.  Exaggerations.

You are right on the first one though, controls are basically always superior on the PC.  But it's also great stating the obvious in number two, so does the PC.

I'll admit that the PS3 isn't as glitchy or buggy as it was. Afterall, who could forget the "I'm going to save now.  Oops it's corrupted my files and now I have to start all over again" bug?   But it's still glitchier than the other 2 versions.

Sony has admited that over 70 MILLION people have had their accounts hacked and that all of their data - name, address, passwords, etc have been stolen.  -  And possibly even credit card details. - But they arn't sure about those.

First they take a bloody WEEK to tell people what had happened, and second they aren't sure about the credit card details?

FFS, any company worth it's salt has peoples credit details hashed and encrypted.  If Sony don't know if they have been stolen then just how did they store the data.

Incompetence, is not an exaggeration when it's true.

I only mentioned the PC for completeness.

The original question was which was best PS3 or Xbox so what I put wasn't stating the obvious, it was answering the original question.

Hacking, it can happen to anybody given the right amount of force.  Time will tell what a group of hackers will do with the overwhelming information of the apparent 70 million you stated.  Likely, there is too much information for a group of hackers to do anything without being noticed.  But of course, a mishap doesn't mean Sony should get away with it easy, but something like this isn't exclusive to one group.  Delaying information is inexcusable at points, and yet understandable and neccessary.

Regardless, i'm sure eyes will be on the situation for a while, who knows what will happen.  And yes, the original thread question.  In the end the simplest answer is "preference", and it's the truth.

Yes but it depends on the information.  Not revealing that credit details have been stolen is breaking the law in many countries.

But then I suppose it could have taken them all week to find out about the details. ( Unlikely though. )

Only admitting what had happened by posting on the main forums was also a bloody stupid incompetent thing to do. Not everybody reads them.  It was only after a major public outcry that they started to email people with what had happened. ( And that was a simple cut and paste from the forum post. )

Emailing everyone should have been one of the first prioritys.   Now I admit that emailing even a simple text file to 70million people can take a while, but to not even start emailing untill after a public outcry is unforgivable.

In answer to these types of questions we can only give our opinions on such matters and I think you can agree that we've both done that.   Posted Image
