I plan to buy BG&BG2 to finally play them but I still have one question that I cannot find an answer for. If I import a Mage from BG to BG2 will I be able to change my class to Sorcerer? Wish I could just choose Sorcerer in BG1 but I've heard that it is only available in BG2... Thanks to anyone who helps me out and sorry for being such a noob:wizard:

I recommend using either www.shsforums.net/index.php or www.usoutpost31.com/easytutu/. Both mods allow you to play Baldurs Gate 1 with the Baldurs Gate 2 engine. Meaning you can use the classes/kits from BG2 in BG1. If you don't want to use mods, you can use www.mud-master.com/shadowkeeper/ to change your class from mage to sorcerer at the start of BG2.

Best thing I'd recommend if you don't want to re-run through BG1 with a sorc is to just make note of your Wizard's XP, stats, and HP, then make a brand new BG2 character as a sorc, go through the spell selections and enter the game. After Imoen finishes talking to you, save, and use shadowkeeper to mod your stats, hp, and XP so that they are the same.
Personally, I'd just run BG1 again. But then I like BG1 a lot. Plus I feel a bit cheaty if I give a BG2 character tome bonuses without having gone through BG1 and actually gotten those tomes.
