I was totally ok with the ME system....then I played Dragon Age 2. The ability to play as a sarcastic and flippant character was a really nice inclusion.
While I don't think we will see the paragon/renegade system change for the end of Shepards trilogy, I really hope that the next game in the Mass Effect Universe utilizes the Dragon Age 2 system of dilogue, with an agressive character, a goody-goody ish character, and a sarcastic one. And I'd even be willing to try a variation on the Friendship/Rivalry scale for the Mass Effect Universe. I think that could be fun.
