I don't get the trouble people have with using Cain on Arnold. Just wait till he starts charging his "Cain" and then start charging yours. 9/10 your Cain will fire first and blow his face off. I bring him down below half health first just so I can 1S1K him with the Cain.

Thanks for the tip! Do you aim for a specific spot?

As I found out today...took me a few goes....when the Reaper stops moving (when its charging up it's own weapon)...aim directly at the right hand eye...the larger of the two...if you get it right in the eye, the inside of the head explodes.

Oh, I do love the Cain, its just not charged enough at this point, I used HW's more often than I usually do with my Insanity run...Cain isn't going to fire off for me so soon.

If you're worried that you don't have enough ammo for the Cain you get a full HW ammo refill at the beginning of the SM and another after The Long Walk.  I always take the Cain and use it on the Scion/Husks and then on the Human Reaper.

Thank you Yuckygeo....I didn't realize that, I have been trying to remember if there were HW refills on the SM, usually i remember where they are...maybe I haven't spotted them on the SM...will try the Cain and look around more for the refills....I figure if I still can't juice it quite enough, can either reload to the beginning (save a save for that possibility) or try to forgo HW dependancy at that moment.

Thanks for the heads up.

You're welcome.  The HW refills are automatic - you won't see any Power Cell crates.  At the beginning of the SM you'll get a notification that you've received X amount of HW ammo - or credits if it's already full.

Nice job man :D Do you know how it feels when you defeat that abomination without heavy weapons? :D Try it on your another playthrough. Try not to use heavy weapons at all.

Once you get used to it, it's really not difficult at all. I've been playing Insanity/Hardcore for my past 4/5 playthroughs, and I don't use heavy weapons at all during the game. Infiltrator + Assassin + Assassination Cloak + Widow = easy.

The missile launcher is decent vs the reaper, as far as ease goes. Just run up to the outer ledge and lob missiles toward the chest...

Ironically the chest-eye is the best place to hit the reaper with any weapon. It's the biggest target, moves the least and take the most damage. The only catch is you need to be ballsy enough to run out into the open to do (which you will quickly realize isn't all that risky after all, once you try).

Found myself in that predicament without meaning to :(...missed both times with Cain...squaddies dead, no medi-gel...only my Widow and me.... ...:crying:...already one re-load behind me....Fighting back tears of frustration, I start popping the Reaper with the Widow....Watching the damage, I start thinking I just might be able to pull this off...:(......:)...:D....Then 'Hello' possessed Collector, jumping the barrier to my right, full shields on it.......:(...Reload....

But point seen...can see the possibility....Not sure how game I'm feeling though...Insanity was a heck of a struggle for me as it was...it was was sheer bl**dy mindedness that got me through the varren on Grunt's LM, Husks on IFF and the SM...the rest was easier than I expected though and had a lot of fun along the way...Just completed LotSB on Insanity too now....took the Arc gun there, but didn't end up using it.

I also found two for the first time, while taking down the Occulus...they were big hits also.

If your Cain is out of juice, you're in luck, just juice some harbinger/collectors.  They'll drop heavy weapon ammo.

Thats right...I realized and remembered as soon as I saw this post....I like the phalanx better, can snipe with that little toy..:D...good for pyro tanks when I don't want to waste the Widow's ammo on such an easy to blow target, Widow is over kill for things like that and have better uses for it.

It is funny how effective they are. The Phalanx is point accurate and has a nice puch and ammo storage. That including the AP upgrade makes the Phalanx pretty decent vs the Terminator.
And the Predator is because with its rich reserves of ammo plus the aforementioned bonus can really use the critical shot upgrade. Combine that with still good accuracy even if you fire a bit faster, they tend to be roughly on par in terms of overall damage output.

And if you think about it, there's nothing more humiliating for the very definite endboss as to be killed with the relatively flimsy gun that you get the first instant you get out of bed in the game. Oh, the irony! Posted Image

Well, I still encourage you to try. I remember the first time I did it, the cold icy grip of fear quickly transitioned into a lukewarm sense of underwhelming as I realised how much easier the fight became... I think I only had to fight Harby once going that time, if at all.

Also, like others have said, use pistols on the terminator. They are mind bogglingly effective on it.

You have convinced me.......Oh, the joy I would feel, taking down the Reaper with a pistol...:o....and would have one very smug Shepard...B)...."Ah, the Reapers... a battle royale?...I have dismissed that claim...:P......all we need are pistols, want me to show you council races how its done?"...
