When I got to the Collector ship and had to pick sniper, the claymore or the assault rifles, the Mattock forced my hand. It is spectacular, but it wasn't my most powerful single shot. <ore versatile sure, but when you can carry 4 guns, versatility isn't the issue.
That said, the Phalanxe was AWESOME and gave me due practice for the Blood Pack handcannon.
What a monster...
I Have a bit of a thing for the Graal, myself. A good gun is not necessarily the single most powerful you can field, it's the one you work best with.
It has no real spread, so if you charge it and give it the lead, you can snipe with it. Similarly, you can plaster walls with brains with a good headshot, yet is plenty light enough to allow decent regen bonus.
Now, the geth plasma shotgun was my baby in ME2 (I mean, I took the Cain EVERYWHERE the plasma shotgun is just better at everything), but it's weight is a bit of a downer for my NovaCharge
technique.

Dude, thread necro. Not cool. And this is the ME2 talk board not ME3 so why talk about weapon weight, nova and the graal shotgun? o_o. And again, thread necro. Not cool.

Mattock is overpowered with time dilation in ME2. Out of time dilation is is basically a proper Vindicator alternative.

I guess the neat thing is that people are doing searches.

Are you kidding me? I would much rather have people nerco threads than unnecessarily creating a new one. This section is filled to the brim with useful information: strategies and builds that have been tried and tested. Why ignore this info?

Nerco'ing is good, my friend.

No it isn't.

Why Thread necro is bad:

1.Any new information that might be provided by that post most likely has
been provided in a different way allready or simply doesn´t matter
anymore (remember: when threads don´t get any more new answers that
usually has a reason), and any new questions have a much higher chance
to be answered in a new seperate thread. Not to mention that some of the
old threads are simply, well, old news that is not relevant anymore.
Most necros simply bring nothing of any value to the table.

2.It also keeps forum discussions current and relevant,
ensuring that browsers new to the forum aren't intimidated by
10-year-old 90-100 page threads that everyone just necroposts in because
why bother making a new thread?

3.Most thread necromancers I've seen in action resurrect threads that run
to multiple pages just to add a one sentence reply that makes no
meaningful contribution to anyones life. If you weren't paying attention
to the post dates (and I usually don't) you can end up reading pages of
ancient posts, which is a waste of everyones time. If you did feel an
old thread was relevant it would probably be best to start a new thread
and refer to the previous one along with a link.

4.Generally you start a new thread, and if it's relevant to a prior
thread, you link to that thread. That way everyone knows that the
current thread is recent, and just covers the same topic.

Generally thread Necro is bad for the reasons listed above. With
important threads (the ones that usually get stickied) thread necro can
sometimes OK as long as you have something genuinely important or relevant to the thread as a whole.
