"Sorry, there are no payment methods available for your country."

I have both Paypal account and Maestro credit card, none works on points.bioware.com site =\\
Will our poor discriminated country ever have a chance to have official add-ons
for DAO, or i have to buy another copy of game and register as US,UK or
something? Doubt that re-registration will work bcuz i have russian IP though...

I would also really appreciate a clarification on this issue, especially with the recently announced Return to Ostagar DLC coming out in the upcoming weeks. I've bought the english version of the DDE from Steam and thus got Warden's Keep but the prospect of being deprived of the right and possibility to purchase future DLCs is somewhat disturbing.

As a loyal and a long-term Bioware/EA customer I hope that this problem will be acknowledged and a solution to this temporary glitch will soon be found.

Best regards,
Alex.

Same question :)

The funniest thing - DLC are being transletad in to russian, byt russians cant buy it :)

And yes - even if you will use non-russian proxy - you still wont be able to pay with credit card.

Come on, Bioware. We WANT to pay for DLC... and after situations like these developers say that piracy is destroying PC-games market.

The decision to not allow russian DLC/points purchases was made by EA - it is not a bug. I don't have any more information on *why* the decision was made that way, I just know that it is on purpose.

Thank you for clarifying the situation Jesse. We appreciate the quick response. The only thing not entirely clear is whether it's a temporary prohibition (say, if EA is resolving some payment difficulties - tax laws, credit card issues or smth. e.g.) or a permament one for the entire 2-year DLC cycle. That's a big difference. From what it looks it's the latter. But I hope not, correct me if I'm wrong.

So russians can buy the game online (from the very same EA Store, for example) but are not allowed to buy some points? This is just ridiculous.

If the problem is in the points themselves, then let us buy DLC with good old fashioned money.

Surely there must be a way to provide a product to customers who are willing to pay.

Why won't you let EA know about this growing issue?

This is discrimination of Russian customers. Ones who are not going to steal DLCs. It is preposterous.

I guess all as one will support me in claiming for Justice.

Awesome... they seems are forcing us to use hacked DLC's, because DLC's are translated in to russian. It will be fun if new one will be translated to.

I sent an e-mail into our "all mighty" EA-Russia about this... situation. As soon as I receive an answer (if I get some) I'll post it here.

Похоже нам пора свой отдельный форум делать :) Откровенно насточертело такое отношение. Это получается мы у них выпрашиваем возможность им же ЗАПЛАТИТЬ. Какая-то мазо-проституция получается...

I'm going to buy game on Steam. But considering this DLCs' problem, I may change my decision... Hopefully, EA and Bioware will sort this out.

As far as I've heard there's some sort of tax law issue... I really hope they'll make DLCs available for purchase through the EA store, since I can shop there without any problems.

I'm freaked out about the fact that it says $7 on the list of addons page...but when you click it for PC and type your password in, it'll say 560 points cost 6.51 Euros. This is for Wardens Keep by the way.

I'm so not trusting Bioware with my info.

I want to buy some points! I paid for the game and I expect a full service from EA! You are a huge company, I'm sure your local company could setup a subsidiary that would pay VAT to Russian tax office.

well they just dont want to work it out. EA russia is disgusting, their "official" sites are out of date with almost no valuable info.

well at least they dont hunt down people for stolen DLC - but heck i dislike it! i want to pay, i want to be a loyal and fair customer.

So can we have an elaborate answer on why russians can't buy DLC points, please?

The story about some tax laws seems to be just a poor excuse.

There are localized online games with operating RMT shops in Russia.

We also have services that transfer cash into online currency, such as WebMoney and Yandex.Dengi.

What is the difference with bioware points?

My guess and it's just a guess, is they'd need to set up a branch here first, suitably organised so the tax authorities can't go after the whole of EA. And they probably decided that the time, expense and downright hassle of doing that wasn't worth the cash flow from the few of us who live in Russia that want DLC - especially as some of us can access it by pretending to be in the UK and paying via Paypal.

Just wondering, does anyone (except us Russian players) worry about this situation? How sad.

In Soviet Russia, DLC pays for you!

EDIT: That was insensitive. I'm sorry, I just wanted a little laugh in. :crying:

I hope it works out well for you all, you don't deserve this treatment. I hope it's solvable in the near future.
