Well, yeah, we know this kind of works. But there's an IP check, so we need to use non-russian proxy in addition to changing our countries in EA and PayPal accounts. It is some sort of solution, but imo this kind of workaround is somewhat fishy and reeks of illegality. I can buy some points this way, sure, but i would take purely legal method over this one even if it was more expensive.

If some BioWare employee is reading this, can we please get any update on this situation, or some other feedback? I have sent few emails to EA Russia support, but everything i got from there were answers like " We are not responsible for any support on this kind of issue. Please send this question to <some other email>, thank you". From every email adress that i wrote to, i got pretty similar response. I feel like support of EA Russia is nonexistent or really doesn't give a damn about customers.

Paypal, Ebay, Amazon, Steam, you name it - they all accept Russian customers. Bioware and EA! Please! Make it possible for me (your devoted fan since my beloved Baldur's Gate) to support you! You just have to make a couple of technical adjustments.

Just found a temporary solution. Purchased the Collector's Edition at Steam. Steam supplies redeeming codes for DLC. Which, of course, doesn't guarantee the availability of forthcoming content. At least, it's much better than nothing.

 Ну-с, что можно сказать...ЕА показала свое лицо, оставив эту проблему (она для них не существует, так как на продаже Warden's Keep'а они подняли около 1 млн. вечнозеленых денег и без нас...). Здравствуй торрент, здравствуй пиратка...причем теперь ни одной лицензии от этой компании я не куплю..чего и всем желаю.

First the god-awful localization (Thank you Steam or I would have been forced to resort to piracy), and now this.
I am not reassured by EA answer – “Soon will be resolved” may very well be 6 or 7 months with Build-in Russian only.
I hope they will allow us, English speaking players in the RF, to choose the language of the DLC – If not – I am absolutely not going to pay for this.

I am not russian but as a person I find this completely unacceptable. EA should have resolved this before releasing the game.

There's working solution involving virtual credit cards, VPN or high anonymous proxy and EA account country change. I will try to buy DLC using VPN trickery when it's released (and post results here). We're dealing with EA here so I don't think current DLC situation will change.



@Tassiaw: There's no way to transfer bioware points or DLC ownership. Asking your friend to log in and buy points should work, not 100% sure tho.

Всё, не мучайтесь. Прокатило так:
Завела учетку PayPal, привязала к кредитке.
В настроках EA поменяла страну на Unated Kindom.
Оплатить очки - появился выбор способа оплаты, Paypal, дальше вбила все параметры PayPal, НО страну оставила UK (и московский адрес, лол).
Всё прокатило, нормально очки зачислились, дополнение оплатила.

Вот такой вот хитрый способ... Спасибо ЕА, блин.

Change country in EA profile, add BP - choose PayPal, enter your PayPal info, BUT don't change country!! (in my case country - UK, adress - Moscow). It works!

That's kind of funny. I purchased digital deluxe edition from EA using my very russian credit card. Now you are telling me that I can't buy tiny add-on with it? Err...why? Could you please ask EA to clarify its position?

And I'm sorry, but this isn't just my problem. It's your problem too. I'm willing to pay, since I believe that good, hard work can not and should not be free. But I'm also quite sure that I and my fellow countrymen will be able to get this add-on for free after some time. Please, let us pay for it.

I think i have tried to buy the DLC for 2 months now, Its not working god damn it!!!



I live in Japan, but im swedish trying to use my visa card and I just cant get my card verified!!. I have the US version of the game.

EA should deal with this problem ASAP!!

Ok, here's promised update. I successfully bought 400 points today. Here's what I did:

1. Registered new PayPal account. Country: United Kingdom; Address, postcode and city: just google some hotel in your chosen country). Do not pick USA `cause you will need US bank account info to complete registration. I did not use any proxy or VPN for PayPal registration.
2. Added my Visa Virtual card to PayPal account and did NOT verify it (not needed for EA/Bioware transactions).
3. Changed country in EA profile to United Kingdom, no billing address or anything like that - just country and language.
4. On Bioware Points checkout page entered billing address from my PayPal account.

There we go... no need to connect via proxy or VPN. I used Visa Virtual card bought from Qiwi payment terminal but regular MasterCard or Visa classic/Gold/Platinum should work as well.
All website-related issues (like refreshing homepage) were fixed by clearing browser cache completely and restarting it.

Indeed. I contacted EA Russia and they pretty much told me to take a hike. "It will be fixed Soon™".

Open http://profile.ea.com, login with your DA:O account and change the country to something else like UK.
