If it makes you feel any better, I'm trying to look around for why this is happening to me. I thought I'd give the game a new try with the new patch and I still can't even get the game going. (still can't play the game after 3 months, Bioware!)

That's weird, even though I got some freezes before the other patches I still could play the game after reloading.

Please don't hate on me, but, do you wonder if it might be your ps3?

Same problem here with a new one added on. I delete all the game data to do a fresh install ( thought that might do the trick). After i did a complete reinstall and downloaded all the promo items and DLC it won't load my save, It tell me I do not have the Signature edition rewards install. Other then the the stuff on the store what else do i need?

Have you tried exchanging it? It is possible that you may have a defective disc.

Have you contacted Sony and/or EA support?

The first time I tried to play DA2, I couldn't get past the character creation screen - it would not respond. Found out (from the forums) that it was processing through all of my DAO saves for import purposes - and it took quite awhile. They have since changed that logic.

I assume you have downloaded/installed all Sony and DA software updates, yes?

of course.just did a fresh install of this broken game and same results.you get to a point(any) and it simply stops loading.the hdd activity light goes dead and the screen just stays there

I'm sorry you are having such problems - but since many other people have been able to play the game, it looks like there is something uniquely wrong with your machine or copy of the disc. The software vendor can't do much about that.

What does Sony have to say about it?

Here's some troubleshooting steps specifically for PS3.
Sometimes the Game Data Utility folder can contain corrupt updates, causing freezing issues.

Most of this FAQ is regarding online play, but can also affect offline play.
