Well you can prevent her and Donnic from getting together and also get him to hate her.JnEricsonx wrote...
I noticed while playing occasionally seeing dialogue options with the romance icon, but I just always figured that she winds up with Donnic no matter what, hmm?
But she still won't romance you.

Um, why would you want to?
Because (IMO) she's the most attractive female companion and has the most likable personality out of all the females.

She's also bossy, self righteous, unattractive and a figure of authority. (Personal opinion here, so don't kill me

Aaaand she isn't carrying around mental baggage like the other LI's. Compared to the blood mage with an obsession, the naughty pirate with the fear of commitment, the broody elf who hates mages with passion, the abomination with a rage problem and the preachy man **** turned chantry brother who can't decide anything, she is the most stable character in you party.

Sadly, Hawke will forever be in the friend zone. Google "Ladder Theory" - always good for a giggle.

He didn't spoil anything. You have no idea what hope he means if you havn't played it before. Plus there is a certain time limit on spoilers. BG1/2 are well past that date.

I"m not upset at him, he didn't spoil anything for me, I'm at the area near the starting Inn right now trying to figure how to walk around without having to switch between the map screen and the game world constantly. But I forgot there was romances in BG.Maladismal wrote...

I still scratch my head when people say they want a Samara romance. Is it really that hard to figure out why Samara isn't romancable? It would honestly be more realistic for Hawke and Bethany to wind up together than Shepard and Samara. Hell, it'd be more realistic for Anders and Fenris to wind up together than anyone and Samara.

First of all... Most insurance companies cover Lenscrafters. Just saying. Food for thought. Anyways, saying she's the most likable personality out of the female companions is like saying she's the most congenial member of the Manson family.

Compared to them she's the most sane but she definitely has plenty of baggage. Ever been with someone that lost a spouse or significant other in the past? I mean by death not by seperation. And they're never over it, and forevermore you're competing with a corpse? That's Aveline. She never gets over Wesley. 4 years later she flies off the handle because you try to give her a shield and in her twisted cobweb of a mind, that means you're trying to replace Wesley because he also had a shield. That is not the rationale of a mentally well woman. She even refuses to discuss Wesley years later. Which is ironic since aside from Hawke's LI she's the only one who wants to talk to Hawke about losing Leandra. Truly, Donnic has my sympathies. That poor, poor man.

OK this is how Man-Giraffe-Dog came to be:

While growing up it was spotted in the wild (but the team was all killed by it and the photos were recovered afterwards)

After which it began its infiltration of humanity, disguised as Giraffe-Dog:

Which leaves us here. Man-Giraffe-Dog is poised to attack and destroy humanity and I'm trying to warn everyone before it's too late. This is totally serial guys. You need to prepare.

The fact that how you behave alters how other characters react to you is the biggest edge the BioWare games has over the Elder Scrolls series, in my opinion, but if they're going to write them this badly, what's the point? I do know that the options you're presented with in character generation and Romances makes this game less replayable than the first Dragon Age, and I don't think that's a good thing.

It's insane that you can't. If you're playing a heterosexual male who isn't evil or crazy, you're left with the options of the ****ty drunk pirate thief or the crazy blood mage - and if you played the first Dragon Age, you know it NEVER ends up well with Blood Mages.
Jowan ends up on a good path if he's released from the Redcliffe dungeon and told to gtfo. But the quest is bugged so unless you're on PC for console debug commands or fix mods, you never get a chance to see it. Annnyway, Aveline is a boiling cauldron of crazy herself. "You gave me a shield?! My husband had a shield 4 years ago! You're telling me to forget my dead husband and move on, perhaps with the new husband I only have because of you? You son of a ****, I hate you!" Err... Whatever you say, Aveline. I also like how if she falls for the desire demon's tricks, she tells a mage Hawke that the templars are right. Everyone else (except Fenris at low friend/rival) accepts it as their own weakness. Aveline decides her weakness means other people suck.
In summary, as a hereosexual male who isn't evil or crazy, I want no part of Aveline.
