Your game bombed.  It said that a misconfiguration prevented launch.

I reinstalled because it asked me to to do so.

Now I have no updater program so my DLC content doesn't work.

I have Dragon Age Ultimate on Windows 7.  I tried following the instructions in the sticky, but they require going into cmd and messing around with things I mostly don't understand.  Also the command line instructions in the sticky don't match my Windows 7 and Ultimate Edition file names, which makes things extra obnoxious.

Dragging and dropping DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe onto installutil.exe does nothing.

What do I do?

This is a stupid error, I think.  Uninstalling and reinstalling should not omit parts of the program.

Go to support.ea.com and click on "Contact Us". You will log in using your same account. This will get you to EA's tech support, who can troubleshoot with you.

So I recently acquired the DA:O Ultimate Edition, via digital download, through EA's website. And in my installation I don't appear to have DAUpdater. I've had a search, but no joy. Obviously the UE has all the DLC's installed with the download, but I figure this may make things a little difficult should I wish to download Mods.

Is there somewhere I can download this? Or is there an alternative program for installing modded content anybody could recommend?

*Launch the game, and go to the main menu screen (the one with the sword sticking into the ground).

*Do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and start the Task Manager

*In the Task Manager, go to the "Process Tab" and sort by Image Name.  You should see two programs running.  The first is the main game file... daorigins.exe.  The second is called daupdatersvc.service.exe... this is the "updater service". 

*If you don't see it, you can manually start it using this technique:  http://social.biowar...6701/65#7252698

*Log in an authorize your DLC.  Once that's done, log out and stay logged out.
