- Will Bioware bring back the infamous "Mission Complete" screen from ME2

- Will female Shepard's walking/running animations be based around that of a male like in ME2 instead of like a female in ME1

Did you HAD to put that one?

I always hated those Mission Complete screens, I hope for ME3 they ditch them entirely and find a new less jarring way to communicate to you the results of a mission.

But the title of thread has nothing to do with 2nd one.

Yes, I agree that's a problem in ME2, but there's already a thread about it.

And for Mission Complete screen?
I royally don't care if they keep it or remove it.

Well it's unlikely we'll be taking orders from anyone in particular like The Illusive Man in ME3, so hopefully there's no reason for it to return.

An option for Shepard's private terminal where we can view summaries from previous missions with stats (like number of enemies killed, mission completion time etc.) could be implemented as a side-feature though.

Mission completed screen was immersion breaking (even if it was written "in-character" from TIM's perspective). I didn't mind getting all my loot and what not at the end of the mission but I didn't need some "summary" to remind me of what I was doing for the last hour or so.

Thanks!

I believe the Mission complete screens is a PERFECT way to break immersion and ruin the experience from that perspective. ME3 is supposed to be a very emotionally engaging game and I want everything to flow well. I do not want to come off of making a very important decision betwee the fate of the Geth/Quarians only to be taken to a mission complete screen and then back to the Normandy.

This is something that is important to me and as of yet, Bioware hasn't addressed this yet which makes me wonder....

It's important to you.

Some of us could not care less either way. As for Immersion breaking, Garrus throwing a water filled condom during a mission brief while quoting shakespear would be 'immersion breaking'...

Get over yourself.

Damn, what's with the attitude? It's ok to disagree without being a jerk.

I really don't understand the wangst over the Mission Complete screens. I mean, they weren't necessary, but I sort of like them--they reminded me of StarCraft. Hurr.

Of course, I don't mind being reminded that I'm playing a video game.

No more attitide than the OP.

Seems they want what 'they' want.....regardless of others. Just pointing out in an equally obtuse manner that many don't care.

As for the immersion thing, it's so overused it amazes me how many people actually fail to use it correctly.

I knew it, was wondering if it was you doing that the other day. My opinion of you has changed Auto.

I find it immersion breaking because it DOES remind me that hey I am playing a video game (same as that bit where the game tells you where the armory and everything is on the Normandy), whereas during the missions themselves I feel I am role-playing and taking on the role of Shepard. It's a bit jarring to be told "Hey you got this many credits and this much loot!" but at the end of the day, not a big deal. There will always be mechanics that break immersion some where. I like the idea of receiving mission summaries as e-mail for those people who do want to look at them. Not going to get my knickers in a twist if the feature isn't removed though.

Yes but some of us hate it. There are other less intrusive ways to convey mission summaries (or for people who even care about mission summaries for that matter).

And yes I'd definitely prefer femshep to actually walk like a female, or at least more feminine

Give FemShep Bayonetta's walking animation for great justice.

They can get rid of the screen but they should keep that catchy jingle sound.

Bring back and expand upon the ME1-style squad debriefings cuz those kicked ass.

Regardless of whether you think it's immersion breaking surely we can all agree there must be a better way of giving us the information after a mission? I think even having the 'camera' focus in on a computer terminal on the Normandy (or something similar) with various details about the previous mission appearing on it would be better.

Could be a way of adding statistics about your accuracy and preferred combat methods/weapons etc. as well, although that might not be to everyones taste I guess.
