It would probobly end up being dumbed down to a bossfight like with the Shadow Broker.

I think he should be a boss fight in the game for sure. They should certainly throw some moral choice or action into the mix as well like they did with Saren and convincing him to "give up".

Personally I'd like to see more "fights" like the spectre and shadow broker.

I'd like to recreate this moment with TIM.

Since we don't know who Shepard's father is, possibly it will be the illusive man?

No.

Shepard's dad died in at least one of the backgrounds too.

TIM as late game squadmate in ME3!

I wouldn't be surprised if BioWare pulled a Loghain on us with him.

The Illusive Man obviously has cybernetic augmentation, but its unknown if it goes beyond his eyes. Maybe he is blind, and had to have it done. Is pure speculation.

I however believe TIM may be or become Indoctrinated in ME3 as a story variable, but I hope we don't fight him. I would love to wee him chat with a Reaper though...it would be faecinating...especially if you saved the base and knows now how to avoid Indoctrination.

I think, also, TIM is on Mercury.

I sincerely hope not. The Illusive Man is a player of people. His employees and the people he manipulates are his weapons. Fighting him personally would be trite and unsatisfying. In other words:

Seriosly, the Emperor was supposed to be this great manipulator of people, right? He could influence people through incredible intricate plots and by twisting their emotions against themselves. Now they've got him pirrouetting through the air with a lightsaber. And then there's Yoda. This great, wise sage guy? The guy who said this incredible powerful and moving stuff? Oh look, he's doing backflips off the wall. I thought this **** was ridiculous even when I was 14.

<_<

Plus, I get the impression that, if TIM has to resort to physical combat, he would consider that he has lost already.

Quite frankly, it disturbs me after having seen The Departed.

According to the books, he has biotics, so he might be able to provide a physical challenge.

I don't think the novels established him as a biotic, although he might still become one.

Personally, I'd like a fight with The Illusive Man to be a QTE-fistfight, with Paragon/Renegade-interrupts as the QTE-inputs. Of course, you'd win the fight regardless, but the interrupt would flavour the battle with alternate combat moves and dialogue.

No thx.

And TIM a biotic? Hope that's not true.

@Vengeful Nature Really? I just loved that part as a kid. Though it's true what you're saying

I've read the novels, and nowhere got mentioned that he was an biotic - also not in the comics.

As for his history, check the latest comic (Mass Effect: Evolution), there gets explained how he got his stale-blue creepy eyes. It's an form of Reaper tech, but not completely the way people think....

Yep, it was a great moment.

This is how Bioware should do the confrontation with the Illusive man. Him giving a finale speech, perhaps even tell something that twist the story.

No fighting.

One of the reasons DA2 disappointed me was the boss fights at the end w/ the First Enchanter and Meridith. It cheapened the characters somehow. I'm sure TIM could defend himself if need be, but his ultimate weapon is information. I would expect that if anything were to happen to him, certain things would become known that are best left buried and Shep's friends and allies could also be put in danger. Ultimately, I would rather stick to what he knows best.

If I remember correctly, it was stated that he had a biotic implant attached to his frontal lobe.

Spoiler

The assassin has overcome my final line of defense, and now he plans to murder me. In the end what separates a man from a slave? Money? Power? No, a man chooses, and a slave obeys!  You think you have memories. A farm. A family. An airplane. A crash. And then this place. Was there really a family? Did that airplane crash, or, was it hijacked? Forced down, forced down by something less than a man, something bred to sleepwalk through life unless activated by a simple phrase, spoken by their kindly master. Come in. Stop, would you kindly? Would you kindly, powerful phrase. Familiar phrase? Sit, would you kindly? Stand, would you kindly? Run! Stop! Turn. Was a man sent to kill, or a slave?

KILL!
A man chooses!
A slave obeys!
OBEEEEEEY!

Best moment in a videogame. Holy shiiiit.

second best game ever made after ME1. i always hated that i COULDNT not kill andrew ryan. by the time i took that second swing of the golf club, i knew exactly what bioshock meant to me as a gamer.

Sweet Jesus, yes please! By all that is holy and unholy I hope we get to battle the Illusive Man in ME3.

He's a great character and Martin Sheen does a fantastic job with his voice acting, but my Shep can't wait to space him. Somewhere there is an airlock with TIM's name on it!
