Actually, I knew it was going to be pointless when I saw it would be only the GI Editors in the podcast. What else would they know besides things already in the magazine? It's pointless! Mad!
Even if Bioware was present in the pod cast it could have been pointless. DId you ever watch those DA2 ones with Mike? I facepalmed thru those for lack of info and answering the same dumb question 5x during one podcast... "Is DA2 a RPG?", Mike: Excellent question! It is! Next question....
I never expect anything out of the podcast relating to Bioware and if something good happens, feel surprised. Their was no new info in the podcast other than Shepard could die at the end of ME2...

We never met another Quarian besides Tali in ME -its possible they already designed a male model but never found a proper quest to put him in.

Agreed on Turians. Krogan woman however, are rare (not to metion very well guarded), so it wouldn't make sense for them to take leisurely strolls around Tuchanka given how important they are to Krogan society.

Casey mentioned in an interview that the reapers overall design is based upon a certain task assigned to them. So no, its not a cop-out, but a deliberate decision on Bioware's part.

I need a bit more...clarification. Are you saying that since the Quarians CAN take off their suits that Bioware needs to develop a 'suitless' Quarian model?
aang001 wrote...

In ME melee weapons were probab;y considered 'useless' in a game all about keeping distance between yourself and your enemies. Perhaps the addition of melee-centered husks in ME2 forced Bioware to consider implementing melee weapons, but never had the time to due so during ME2's timeframe.

Concept art of both genders WERE made, perhaps not implemented, but they were at least considered at some point. Plus, the Qun demands that Qunari woman stay at home, so I doubt Hawke/The Warden will ever meet one outside of Qunari lands.

We met another female quarian on the Citadel. There was a short quest involving a volus claiming she pickpocketed him. I'm pretty sure this was ME1, not ME2. Unless I'm mistaken...

Work on your maths son.
Like everubody says, this podcast just feels like a review of some of the features that have already been released. I bet they picked the questions at random....And this was supposed to be a ME podcast, but they kept bringing up other games. If they actually had any good info on ME, I would have been fine with it. Still, I would have preffered pics or a video over this so called "Q&A". I was expecting something epic, but it was weak. They did say a few small things, but it was just elaborating on some previous details rather than anything new.

I actually think the podcast guys misinterpreted the question. The question was "why do all the Reapers we've seen in ME3 look like Sovereign?" I don't think the question was wondering why all The Reapers looked like giant metallic squid bug things, but why all the ones shown look exactly the same as Sovereign did, when at the end of ME2 we actually saw a whole bunch of Reapers that had subtlely different designs, despite all being robotic squid bug things (even Harbinger looks different from Sovereign). I think the questioner was simply wondering why we seem to have gone from different looking mechanical squid bugs as shown in ME2 to them all appearing to be the exact same design in ME3.

I can't be bothered to listen to this thing, but I very seriously doubt that. MGS4 involved access a gigantic inventory of weapons and attachments plus a weapon and ammo store at any point in combat, allowing you to completely change your weapon loadout and customization any time you wanted. I don't see that happening. Besides, I'm happy enough if weapon attachments that have visible and tangible effects on the weapon are there in some form, but I'm guessing you'll have to use the armory on the Normandy. Nothing so far indicates that any sort of inventory is going to be brought back in ME3.
Which is a shame, of course.

From what they said, it wasn't so much them saying that the weapon modding/customisation is exactly like MGS4, but more a case of them using MGS4 as the example of what other game it reminded them of the most. It sounded like it was similar to MGS4's style, but they also said that it was done on the ship via a special toolbench rather than just on-the-fly whenever you wanted (probably somewhat akin to modifying your items in KotOR) and that the weapon would physically look subtly different whenever you altered it. So I suppose the way to think of it is --given how it's been explained-- is MGS4 meets KotOR's Workbench.

Yeah, that's basically the impression I got from the other stuff that was on GI, I just hadn't listened to this podcast because apparently it's long and not very interesting. I don't know if I'd necessarily compare this to MGS4, though, the distinguishing feature of MGS4's weapon customization was that it could be done on the fly... plenty of other games have attachment tweaks that you can do when you choose your weapon loadout before a mission, but I guess they have dirty sounding shooter names that we're not allowed to like. *sigh*
Anyway, I expect this to come in the form of a functionality added to the tables the weapons are laid out on in the armory or something. That's kind of what it sounded like, and it strikes me as being the simplest and most obvious way of implementing it.

I see. Perhaps the reaper 'grunts' share Sovereign's design in situations like cinematics and background additions (to cut back on development costs), while any reapers physically interacting with Shepard will have unique models.
Plus, Harbinger has its own model. Actually, this is a moot point, as its status as the reaper 'leader' basically demands that it looks different from the rest of the fleet.

I feel comfortable stating that the vast majority of people want to see what is behind the mask. Rather some of them approve of how quarians look or don't approve, rest assured that they ALL will disapprove of there being no face at all. And since when does Bioware care about pissing people off anyway?
The Master Chief comparison isn't applicable. I know what he looks like: A human male (ginger).

I disagree. I think it's better that what the quarians look like remains a mystery. That along with The Reapers' true motives are things I still want to be a mystery at the end of the trilogy.

I don't know... I've seen quite a few people here say they prefer the quarians be a mystery. Not sure about the numbers, but I've seen it.
As for The Reapers, they said that their motives are supposed to be beyond our comprehension and that we're incapable of understanding. That's not exactly going to be the case if we just find out and can understand it easily. There's a difference between thinking we know what their motives are and actually knowing them.

And the podcast was simply a rehash of what have already been said. But it is nice to get it gathered into one piece.
And as for Tali's face, and Quarians face. I do know that there are numerous people who support not showing anything, as well as numerous people who support showing Tali's face or a random Quarian's face. Which group is bigger, it's hard to tell, i don't know. Though count me in among those who want to see Tali's face in ME 3.
