Or (more likely) they don't know why this happens.

After all, the people in customer care sending and receiving mails aren't computer engineers. It's not their fault. The problem is that these complaints don't even reach the engineers in the first place.
I'll check computer geek forums. If can find someone to at least diagnose the problem, to just tell us why it's happening, we just might be able to mod the game to avoid the issue altogether. Off to Google it is...

Never happen. It's three years old now, and it's not the game's fault that AMD was running so late with Bulldozer and took shortcuts while testing it (AMD did).
Don't forget that it runs fine with Phenom, and the other AMD processors as old as the game is. Only this year's brand new Bulldozer is guilty of this particular hardware problem.

I am with Gorath Alpha on this one. EA cant be held responsible for a
CPU that came out after ME1. Sure, as a Bulldozer owner, I would LOVE EA to issue a patch, but
consider this, even if (and I mean if) they did, the underlying cause
of the problem would remain. At best, EA might be able to create a
workaround to bring ME1 back up to full functionality, but the only way
to prevent this problem occurring again with something else, is for AMD
to investigate it and provide directives to the mobo (and possibly graphics card) manufactures in
updating their Bios and drivers.
Basically, its AMD's fault
My advice to you all is to do what SapereAude1490 and me did, send in details of the problem to here
http://emailcustomercare.amd.com/
and leave a link back to this thread. There must be loads of ME fans out there with Bulldozers, show them we have a voice then perhaps something might get done.

already tried that. currently, we are running through the "reinstall and update everything" step. and the response times are slow... so very, very, very sloooooow...

Downloaded from Steam in December.
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
BIOS: Phoenix BIOS SC-T v2.1
Processor: AMD E-450 APU with Radeon HD Graphics (2 CPUs), ~1.6GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6320 Graphics
And EA themselves said that my computer is more then capable of running it, yet offered no help on the topic :/ I really wanna play through ME1 again but i cant stand these important levels being all... bad

The "Trinity" series of recently released Fusion APUs share with the Bulldozer Cores the odd firmware causing this symptom. Complain to AMD.

OS: Windows 7 64 bit
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 (latest BIOS)
Processor: FX-4100 3.6 GHz
Graphics: Gigabyte HD7700 (I believe it is manufacturer Overclocked) (latest BIOS)
RAM: 8GB
I'm using the Catalyst 12.4 (8.96 graphic) drivers listed on Gigabyte's website because the latest AMD drivers were causing my system to be unstable.
