Ok, so I read that Casey Hudson was thinking about making a MMO out of Mass Effect. In my opinion I would absolutely hate that I dea. What id prefer is an offline game or if the MMO was playable offline and didn't require you to get online at all and had a nice long story to play through. Actually in my opinion would be something along the lines of a Mass Effect Origins similair to Dragon Age Origins. but with guilds and such, pretty much the ME universe with the abiltiy to make choices with an Elder Scrolls type guild system where you can join both good and evil factions and have either an evil or good character, one who enslaves and gains power or one who liberates and gives protection.Just my opinion.
As much as I like the idea of a Mass Effect MMO, I would certainly go with a system similar to what you described instead.

Being able to chose our own species sounds like something better suited for a Mass Effect online game. Personally not a fan of online games, but if I could chose something else...
I would personally like a game set long after the events of Mass Effect. I'd say about a hundred years into the future, because if we go too far it will seem odd that everyone is still using the same technology. Playing a brand new character on their own adventure would be nice. I was thinking along the lines of an AI given an artificial human body on a mission to discover why the were created. We could start out with a monotone voice, but as we progress our character begins to follow our personality and behaves more "human."
I could see deciding the choices Shepard made similar to the test Jacob gave you in Mass Effect 2.
Ex. We meet a krogan. We go on a mission with said krogan and any new players learn pretty much everything about the genophage, and the krogan people during said mission. At the end of the mission the player would be put in a situation where they are asked if they recall what Shepard did to the krogan.
Importing saves to a fourth game seems a bit much, but I bet key choices can be made after they happened for new players, and old alike. An import feature would scare away new consumers by making them think this game won't make sense unless they played the previous three. So Shepard's important choices are made through dialogue after the player becomes aware of what the gravity of Shepard's choices was. It would probably also be wise to have a new title on the top with "based on the Mass Effect series" below it in smaller print.
There are a lot of ways they can continue with this series as a single player game that maybe has multiplayer in it later on. For now we can only imagine what might become of the series. Hopefully they don't wait five years to bring it back as an MMO.

Yeah, Mass Effect: Origins sounds like a pretty cool idea. I never understood the fascination with MMO's though.
Apparently some people desire human contact, not sure why.

That being said, I think development for the next game should be built for the next generation console, so plenty of development time can take place. I would love to see an individual title, with its own subtitled name (ala Mass Effect: ______________). Please, no Mass Effect 4, 5, etc.
As for plot, I am interested in whatever Casey Hudson comes up with, but I in no way want there to have Reaper involvement. The reason: this trilogy is THE DEFINITION of epic, and I don't want it to be distorted. The Reapers are awe-inspiring...an amazing antagonist...but I want the arc to completely end and close in Mass Effect 3.
I would love to see a prequel involving more Saren. I would also love a new plot involving a new galactic species yet undiscovered by anybody.
I just don't want a new game to pop out every year and this franchise to get watered down. I would rather it end completely than have that happen.

Or Grand Theft Auto: The Citadel. I wonder how a Grand Theft Auto styled game would work on the Citadel, now that I really think about it.

Honestly, if anything, I want to see a new story with new characters, a new goal, etc. See another story from another perspective. As far as genre, I wouldn't mind seeing a more actual shooter. Not really too big on games like Call of Duty, but it would be interesting to see a pure action game in that world. Also, it would make for a great multiplayer game. Imagine a multiplayer shooter taking place on Omega, the different merc groups as the different factions. Oh, hell, show some soldier's story during the First Contact War. With the exception of TIM's experience with it in Evolution, we've heard about it, but never saw it.

A dragon age origins style game where not only you can play as a human but as a Turian, Asari, Salarian, Quarian etc.
This would be my preference. Like DA:O, you choose a race. Lets say your options could be: Turian, Asari, Salarian, Quarian, and Krogan.
Each race could have a different set of classes. So instead of Soldier, Adept, etc. if you chose, lets say Turian your class options could be Mercenary(which would be like Soldier) or Agent(which would be like Infiltrator, a Garrus clone basically). If you chose Asari you could be Commando(a Vanguard type class)or Justicar(Adept or Sentinel comparison).
Each race would have it's own unique "origin quest" before you become a Specter or something, I don't know. But I'm sure Bioware could make a kickass story.

I think that this is a good idea actually. But you could join whichever merc group you wanted, and you could have the option to become a spectre later on in the game or earlier on if you wanted and it should exploit its own missions and powers ( be able to extort or boss people around etc.) The problem with it is that there are too many race which is why bioware should only use a few, like let's say the most famous ( salarian, turian, asari, krogan, human, batarian, and possibly a yahg).
Bioware could make this happen and the idea of making an MMO is extremely stupid in my opinion. Sure the universe is expansive and an MMO would suit it but I for one don't want to see my most loved video game franchise be repuprosed as something like that. I did read the GI Casey Hudson interview for the MMO and this is what sparked my questioning.

I personally don't think Bioware would or should try to adapt the Origins system to Mass Effect, unless the fans are ready to some radical gameplay type changes. Mass Effect is known for its full voice overs throughout the universe. A system allowing you to choose through a multitude of races + gender for each would require enormous voice over work, and writing work as well.
Different species react differently to situations and writers would not be able to write a single script for all races. They tried it in Origins, with some minor branches for certain conversations based on race, but I think it comes into even greater play in a galaxy wide setting.
An MMO unfortunatly fits very well into their universe based on scope. I wouldn't be able to play it, as I don't like being bogged down by susbscription rates. I prefer a one-time only buy. At least with DLC I can choose whether or not I want to put additional money into a game without disabiling my ability to continue playing with the content I've paid for.
My preference would either be for a spin-off series based during either the Krogan or Rachni wars as a bit of an interesting pre-curser to the franchises lore. I do believe there could also be some interest with a scaled down version of the Origins system already suggested. Allow a player to choose one of the three main merc groups (Blood Pack, Eclipse, Blue Suns) as your unique "Origin", that might also auto pick your class based on which you choose. After your unique introduction you get thrown into a more unique story.
