Yeah, Mass Effect: Origins sounds like a pretty cool idea. I never understood the fascination with MMO's though.

Apparently some people desire human contact, not sure why.

It's more about getting awesome and then showing off
it's really just up to how motivated you are :bandit:

I'd like another trilogy set in the future, with a brand new story. Allow import game choices from Mass Effect 3 and have a comic style canon video where new players can see what happened to Shepherd 100 years ago.

I would vigorously, enthusiastically, and joyously support the development of a ME MMO

IF

AND ONLY IF

(Now read that again to make sure you get it.)

it can be done decently, without straying too far from the ME class-based shooter-type gameplay, with a strong (Though not necessarily nonlinear) story and without the genre cliche of two opposed factions that never interact apart from shooting each other.

Why: As Casey said, the ME universe is impossibly vast, and in the end we are saving the galaxy so we, and everyone else that lives, can live in it, and a well done MMO, I think, offers that potential. MMOs also in some sense free writers from having to have a huge galaxy-threatening story. Casey specifically said they built major world hubs intentionally so they could never run out of stories to tell, and they are all, I'm sure, worthy stories--It's just not the fate of the galaxy at risk, and that's ok in an MMO where it isn't quite so much in other kinds of games.

The gameplay is already divided into classes, major races are already known, as are potential bonuses, and lore is established. Equipment would probably take a little more from ME1 than 2, but again, MMOs are more accustomed to that interface and setup.

If this MMO could be made, and could be made well, without compromise for the sake of a release date or money, I would definitely fork over a monthly subscription. And that's coming from someone who, in every other case known to man, has refused to do so, and proclaimed that payment model to be dead.

If, on the other hand, any aspect of the game was allowed to be sacrificed, even slightly, I would ardently fight the development of the game.

Basically, give the ME team a blank check and no time limit to do it, or don't do it at all. This is one of those things that would be beautiful if done precisely how it should be, but ugly if it's even slightly off.

I let Bioware make that call. I have faith in the ME team's ability to write, design, and listen to sense. I believe they could do it. But it would not be a quick or easy thing.

Barring an MMO, the First Contact War would certainly be interesting. It'd also be cool to have a game where you could pick your race--again, that's a big draw for an MMO, but if it could somehow be fitted into another story in the ME universe, it'd definitely be cool, particularly if that one had multiplayer--Though, again, that is still along the slow creep to an MMO.

Maybe a sort of Fable-ish type game where you start out as nobody bounty hunter and eventually build up to making your own mercenary band or somesuch? Might be interesting.

There's no shortages of places to go, honestly. My biggest interest will be in what other directions they take gameplay--Be it a more traditional shooter in, say a First Contact game, or maybe something entirely different. Mass Effect puzzle game?

Now you're thinking with eezo.

... Yeah, I'm gonna go to bed now.

-Tolan *Is shot for making an ME/Portal reference.*

Gods .. please not an MMO, that would be the absolute worst direction they could go.

I'd like a prequel series or maybe even a post Mass Effect 3 series where you can import the state of the galaxy from ME3 like how you import your DA:O save into DA2.

A new RPG (not necessarily the exact same style as ME though) in the Mass Effect universe, where we can create a protagonist ourselves. The player should be able to pick different races as well.

The story wouldn't be about reapers or the destruction of an entire galaxy. I'm not sure what it would be about, but there's plenty of material to work with by now.

THAT would be great for RPG and ME fans.

MMOs are fine I guess, but I do not have the energy to play one so I'd be much more interested in a single-player game.

Let me think i would like to have MMO but in graphic like mass effect was xd. Plus i notise they are bunch of others galaxies in the galaxy map so is there any chance when we defeat the reapers here in milky way to chase them to another galaxy just saying cause that would be so cool.

Another RPG-like game where you choose what Species you are...
every species would have another power. I really want to be a Drell and a Krogan

no need to put any hate on this I simply asked what people would like after the trilogy is over

No hate intended. Just thought "nothing" was actually a valid answer rather than lack thereof.

To throw my two cents in again. i was thinking more along the lines of specifically an offline ME game either before or after the time of the ME trilogy. yes i know that voice over would take too long which is why they can scale things down to the obvious and most iconical races, like perhaps citadel races, humans, krogan, quarian etc. they would have to use very many and could implement knew races as DLC. similair to the paragon and renegade speech options there should, on occasion, be race specific dialogue. the ME universe is in fact very large but theyre still making another ME game with choices from the previous game affecting the third right? so theyre used to the impossible. if Bioware is going to waste the time and money on an MMO then why not use it to something that is better than that? like an offline MMO in sorts. it has all of the greatness of an MMO but it doesnt have to be played online if you dont want to. and if Bioware goes in the MMO direction i will never play it. i can neither afford to play it nor do i have the internet connection to play it with. i prefer to make not only my own character but my own universe too not band together with a bunch of people to take out the "boss of the week".

Pretty much what I said. I want to see the impact of Shepard's choices a hundred years later.

I don't do MMOs....at ALL. However, (pause for effect) I WOULD play a Mass Effect MMO. I'd like to see the contact wars possibly too. Almost like ODST but for Turian/Humans (you could pick which side you wanted). IDK just spitballing here.

I want a "Shepard and Liara take a skiing vacation in the Swiss Alps" DLC.

I'm serious. I would pay for that. Shep needs a vacation after saving the galaxy for a 2nd time.

Overall I think a Mass Effect MMO would be a bad move. First of all you have to compete with WOW not a good idea, but even if you can compete with it, the limitations you would have to put on it would diminish the epicness of the Mass Effect IP. So a more Elder Scrolls like approach would allow them to do more with how the game plays and how the stor progresses. If they wanted to go a MMO route they would have to totally make it like nothing ever seen simply copying the WOW formula in almost any way would fail. you would have to create something called an MMOTPSRPG.

Wait, didn't I agree to that too? >.<"

I don't think BioWare could necessarily make a game like that on their own. However, all they would have to do is get in touch with Bethesda itself-- who better to learn from than the people that made the Elder Scrolls series? With both companies working together with their respective resources and talent, I don't really see how such a hybrid idea could go wrong, and it would likely be one of the most hyped-about (and best overall) games in recent memory.

I absolutely loved how the world of TESIV was so immersive, and the same goes for Mass Effect. If such a game were made, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Indeed, I can't think of anyone who does exploration as well as Bethesda, and Bioware's attempt with planetary exploration in the first game was definitely lackluster, conversely Bethesda's writing can't hold a candle to Bioware, so the two working together would be fantastic.

THAT... is debatable my friend. I thought Oblivion's story, plus expansions like Shivering Isles, were rather engaging. To me, it's just the dialog that needs work, and I bet they may be doing something similar to ME's dialog wheel for Skyrim, though it's been a while since I've read that big preview GI had for it. All I remember is that Bethesda's doing away with the: "activate character, zoom in to their face and everything around you stops" mechanic, which I rejoiced over.

Oh don't get me wrong, their writing is by no means bad writing, it's just that comparing them to Bioware is like comparing Burger King to filet mignon, they both taste good, but one is so far out of the other's league that it just isn't fair.
