A gritty, dark and depressing 15 hour long first person shooter campaign of the first contact wars. You play as a human squad that comes under attack from the Turians and takes heavy losses. Main focus on characterization.

I think that would kick ass

One of these:
Be a Quarian on his or her pilgramage. Discovering a polt against the fleet along the way. Open ended gameplay with a choice of what you take back as your gift.
Be a Krogan on his path to becoming a War Chief and explore the world of Tuchunka in a Fallout 3 style RPS.
Play as Anderson in conflicts sutch as Shanxi like in the first book.

I think most people love how the galaxy is so complex and just plan awesome. I keep promoting the Elder Scrolls formula because it will give us a chance to explore the inner workings of whatever race or faction we would like to see. Another point to make is that different from Elder Scrolls they would have to expand what Bioware did in Dragon age, have your own story with each race, but to a much larger degree. I would say a unique 10 hour story involving each race, plus whatever else we can do in the story. They would also have to take in account cultural differences too. I know that this would be a big undertaking.

So a more simplified Idea of this, would be to follow any race as a specter in a Shepard like story.

I don't understand why people want Mass Effect to turn into just another shooter game.

Because some people are straight-up shooter fans... which is fine. But that doesn't mean ME turning solely into a shooter would be alright. BioWare always intended ME to be a hybrid of RPG and TPS.

I would like for bioware to try their hand at a open world RPG set in the ME universe. Not necessarily a MMO, but something more along the lines of the Elder Scrolls game,s but with Bioware's story telling. Or maybe GTA/red dead redemption would be a better example for a base.

I would like to see a continuation that doesn't have to do with Shepard or the Reapers. An RPG that lets you customize your own PC Race, Gender, Origin, etc. This PC would go on to be a top candidate for the SPECTRES, and so on and so forth. It would take place after the ME Trilogy. I am not sure how the decisions from previous games would be handled but I personally wouldn't mind if canon decisions were made for us. The Rachni are just too cool to leave out just because some players may or may not have decided to murder the Queen. http://social.biowar...3/index/6247077 - Rachni thread.

A continuation would be cool, but I'm not sure I can comment on how they would carry over things that happened until I play ME3. I hope it's better then a comic book. That was cool, but not deep enough to satisfy more "hardcore" fans. At the same time though I don't have any better ideas.

I'd like to see a game where you play as a Quarian on a pilgrimage where he/she gets involved in a long and heavy plot that ends up with the Quarians getting their homeworld back. If that isn't already covered in ME3, I think it would be a fitting and suitable spinoff game.

I'd want Mass Effect 4.

Obviously the Shepard Trilogy would be wrapped up, but I'd love to jump forward in the timeline a few hundred years, and play as a new protagonist in another single player action/RPG. Maybe this time around the 'hero' would have a mercenary or pirate background.

If Bioware decides to go a different route with the IP than single player action RPGs, an MMO would be my second choice.

YES!!!!!!!!!! Thankyou!!!!!! Someone who FINALLY gets it!

Wait, didn't I agree to that too? >.<"

I don't think BioWare could necessarily make a game like that on their own. However, all they would have to do is get in touch with Bethesda itself-- who better to learn from than the people that made the Elder Scrolls series? With both companies working together with their respective resources and talent, I don't really see how such a hybrid idea could go wrong, and it would likely be one of the most hyped-about (and best overall) games in recent memory.

I absolutely loved how the world of TESIV was so immersive, and the same goes for Mass Effect. If such a game were made, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Sorry, xD i forgot all of the stuff said that far back to be honest. Well, i personally think that EA won't let Bioware do anything they want to since how EA doesn't let anyone do anything they want to anymore. Bethesda does have a publishing company and could possibly work with Bioware as well as fund them. i think that if they both paired up for the ME IP then that could be a very very long friendship spitting out many good titles.

a lot of you use origins as an example, but I think Elder Scrolls is a better one, because of the exploration and freedom to do what you want aspects.

I agree.  I've been saying since ME1.... after the completion of Shepard's trilogy I want an Oblivion-style rpg. Where I can choose to be an Asari, Batarian, Turian, you name it! And live in the Galaxy of ME.....   freakin amazing!

I used ME:O as a placeholder because we are on a Bioware social site and not only they but the people on here might be more familiar with the DA:O title. But, i also used it as a reference to not only be able to pick what species but to also be able to have a unique origin story where you can actually make decisions in it and see the repurcussions later in the game instead of in another game or just hear about it.

i honestly would want an elder scrolls style exploration game with the DA:O style origins where you can pick your own race and gender for a certain amount of races since not every race could be implemented due to expansiveness. i think the story should be like this:

- you create your own back story in the special race-decided origin story where you make enemies and friends early on due to your actions

- has a morality system whereas if you were a turian and you were evil your scale plates would get bigger, more jagged, and sharper similair to Saren or if you were good they would be more blunt, looked more *polished* or smooth etc.

- the storyline is pretty much where you can either go one of two paths: become a nameless merc, pirate, or freelancer in the terminus system and slowly work your way up taking over key places to gain power and respect ( people slowly start to recognize your name and face ) all up until you control the terminus system and command it in side missions or against the citidel space trying to capture it and create an empire of unlawful conrtol or dictatorship. or youre part of the alien species' military and you work your way up through the ranks becoming that species' special ops group until you become a spectre and are respected and possibly join the council and lead campaigns with your crew on the terminus system trying to regain it.

- this should all happen after the ME trilogy that way when the reapers have been defeated the races are building up to become powerful due to their obvious losses and you could rise to power, fame, infamousy and control it in its most weakened state.

- also i believe that candidates for the races should include: council races ( turian, salarian, asari, human ), krogan, quarian, batarian, and yahg. and there should be race specific dialogue in some conversations similair to renegade/paragon. and depending on your chosen race there should be tensions with other races lik krogan and council races and you could display your power and earn their respect or fear.

this is what i want VERY BADLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bioware please read this and consider it. and everyone else read this and tell me what you think. and please....... NO MMO's.... EVER... or multiplayer.
