DA2. I feel like they were a lot less awkward to watch.
Except for Merrill's bare arms, those were a bit off.

Human nature? Not that I don't get where your coming from or disagree with you.

Pull back the facade of civility and you'll find we're animals.(imo)

I read the news these days and find I can't agree with the second bit, because we are animals. Of course that isn't the discussion here.

But like I said earlier, "tastefully" done in DA now seems to mean slapping a new coat of paint on the same dungeon layout. But me? I'll take more variety in dungeons over 5 seconds of titillation(Extension to the time of titillation may of course diminish demand for dungeon variety:whistle:). Especially when daggers come out of nowhere.

DA:O romance all the way. With DA2 you only talk to them if they have something to say which makes for rather restricted interaction. In DAO I enjoyed taking my time talking to them and listening to their story and background. It therefore pains me to hear that David Gaider isn't looking to return that format when even ME1 and 2 use a similiar set up.

And oh yes, Natural Bodies + Better Sex scenes blows DA2's dry humping away. Where's that toolset Bioware? Oh wait they are busy making the next item DLC pack.

The actual scene themselves, then I vote for DA2. (Though I wish they would lose the clothes. :P) But, the steps leading up to it, and everything else (yay at the fact you can actually communicate/interact with your companion at any time in DAO) it would be DAO, no doubt. Alistair was my love interest, and would love to hear him say "My dear" and stuff after we've gotten together. That, doesn't happen in DA2...

leading up to the actual scene itself, I would pick DA O. It felt a little odd in DA 2 when Hawke would flirt with his/her possible LI in front of the others in your party. In Origins, you usually did this in camp when the two of you were alone for the most part.

As for the scene itself, I would choose DA 2. Without any mods or anything, the scenes in Origins seemed a little strange. Also, maybe it's just me but I kind of think the more they show in terms of "action" or nudity the less mature it becomes.

When were you ever alone in camp?

I meant alone as in not with the other people in your party right there with you. With Morrigan, you were a distance away from the others. With the other possible LI's you would talk to them and the others in the camp seemed to be engrossed in their own thoughts or just not standing right next to you.

Neither. They're all terrible. That's why I had to use mods for romance scenes in Origins.

One thing that I found odd in DA 2 was that seemed like Sandal was watching Hawke and Isabela for they moved it to the bedroom.

Whenever I was in camp romancing Isabela I had nearly everyone but Morrigan two feet away from me. Staring. Especially awkward when 'going back to your tent' meant making love out in the open where they all were. Staring.

Wheras in most of the personal conversations in DA2 It happened privately in their homes or whatnot. Even if you had a party available, they were not in those scenes at all. The only flirt dialogue your party sees are the minor ones that happen away from the personal quests.

Though the Sandal thing you mentioned was funny. Usually they move people off to the side during cutscenes. But thats the one awkward time they forgot to do it. But you take it upstairs after that anyway.

Both: DA2 and DAO.

Because, there are no romances in other RPG games (not BioWare games) at all .... for female players at least.

They're about almost equally awkward, in different ways. But I think DA2 is worse and kinda more vulnerable because it's a sequel. Obviously Bioware staff is too timid to motion capture this, ...or to uncomfortable to act well.

Both weren't that good.

IMHO, as far as BioWare games go, Mass Effect 1 did it best.

Let's just be clear:

THERE ARE NO SEX SCENES IN DA2.

Only some face-eating, heavy breathing and cookie cutter dialogue.

Sex scenes are among the few things much better done in DA2 than DA:O.
(no big feat though, DA:O's scenes were especially atrocious)

It's one thing Bioware seem to correctly got feedback from.

i skipped them in DAO, too akward. In DA2 it's done much better, but still far from my personal favorite ME1 scenes.

How come nobody is posting any romance scences from DAII? Other than the "I'm hungry" picture, I'm not seeing them.

Often people mistake the smexi times for the romance.

Thread title says romance.

Also, DAO never had sex, did it? It had grade A awkward digital almost porn, but no actual sex, so far as I can remember.

@jerrybsn : cuz no one wants to see Merrill's demon fingers.

Oh no, did Gaider really say that? :( Crap that's disappointing, do you have a link to when he said it?
