For goodness sake, the games are rated M for MATURE not T or E. Why so restrained on the sex?

Well thats how it's gonna be in furture games I'm sure tanks to Foxnews and ohter american senators that need to troll/talk about something so sad.

Well, if you put it that way, neither did DA:O!

Anyway, I do prefer the DA2 romance scenes by a long shot.

I prefer DAO simply because the modders have been busy little beavers (Kiss on demand ftw!). For vanilla DAO and DA2 it's much of a sameness.

Yeah. Their scenes suck big time w/o mods.
Seems that BioWare (EA) got a quite pusillanimous after that Fox News report about "SE-XBOX" with ignorant puttana talking about something she has absolutely no idea about.

Didn't know that they were going to implement actual sex scenes fro DAII though. Unfortunate that they didn't grow a pair to go ahead with it. <_<

As for full out sex, the problem I have is that toon sex all looks silly to me. I'd rather have a fade to black and fill it all in with imagination than be confronted with Team America puppet sex and collapse into giggles.

you can skip the scene in DA:O and pretend its Fade to black ... but there is no way to "unskip" the scene in DA2 ... not to mention DA2 romances feels more like rape then actuall sweet romance ...

This^  and aside from the toon look, if one used mods, for example, for totally naked sex scenes, then it would be easy for anyone to assume it is nothing more than porno-lizing for the joy of just seeing it as far as emphasizing the emotions of charactcer interactions. What would be the point as it doesn't add to the aim of the story. I think adult imaginations work just fine in these kinds of games.

Definitely DAII. The Vanilla Romance scenes in DAO were cringe worthy, right down to the kitschy music theme. As for Mods, DAO Modded love scenes are better but I never liked the "Better Sex Scenes" Mod. Loved IRS though.

Still, DAII's love scenes are amazing. (Esp. Kind and Snarky Hawke. "Want a sandwich?" had me sputtering....and Anders' reaction is spot on!)

Sex scenes ---> DA 2

That said, I only ever had one romance going on for Hawke. Fenris' and her 'wall-wrestling' was kind of interesting. I don't want any pixel porn either, but it could have been a bit longer before the fade to black. Maybe more talking, kissing, you know....

None, Biowares romances haven't matured much since KotoR.
Ye they did include sex scenes... that's not (much of) an improvement in my eyes....
Romances end generally after the black fadeout/-kiss/-sex scene since KotoR.

I really hope that Bioware begins to mature in that regard and starts trying out new things, going away from that formular. ME3 might be the first one in that regard, but who knows...

All the cinematic razzmatazz in the world can't save badly written characters and romances.

While I'm happy I didn't see the sackcloth underwear this time around, I did cringe when Anders lurched forward and nomnomed.

I feel for Anders, but it's more concern and worry than anything. And that's okay. I'm sad for some of these characters, and for good reason.

Isabela is the only other character I've played the romance angle with, and...well, I'm glad she's got her ship now. At least she got something out of the relationship. Even though I had to appease a slaver to get it.

Dragon Agae: Origins had far better scenes. And with mods, they became quite lovely. Maybe Bioware will go back to ME scenes but I doubt it.
