On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you rate DA2?

Also, if you played it (almost everyone has), what is your DAO rating?

DA2: 5
It seems like it had some potential, but the effort and time just wasn't put in.

DA2= 6 out of 10
The story was a let down, disjointed, unmoving and hardly compelling.
The unpolished textures, reused areas and minimal environments "shrunk" the game.
Every now and then some funny party banter would wake me up to the fact I was playing a game.
The game did have potential, not that EA cares about that though.(imo)

DA:O 8.5
DA2 7.5
While DA2 did many things right, the epicness of it's complete failures outweighs the gameplay to where instead of a sequel that improves upon the ground laid by the previous title... it feels more like a step backwards.
From a lesser developer I would congratulate them on the intermediate success but given BioWare's proven track record of producing 5 star games this stands out as a step backwards and if they aren't careful that step turns into a fall and then they start tumbling down the slippery slope of getting by with substandard products slapped together by dollar humping monkeys.

DA 2 : 6.5
You could round up if you're not one for decimal places.

Being as objective as I can, I'd give them both about a 7/10. I love both of them greatly but they both have faults I can't really ignore that hamper the gameplay and (rarely, I admit, but sometimes) the story.

DA:O did not do anything particularly new, unique or original. You could even say it was relatively limiting and simplified compared to earlier RPGs. But what DA:O did was take all of the staples and conventions of the fantasy RPG genre and implemented them to a very high standard, creating a very engaging plot with many interesting characters and locations, allowing the player to role play, make decisions and have those decisions play out in the game world.
Does all the good things well, even if it's not at the top of the genre.
DA 2 = 6
DA 2 did not *click* for a variety of reasons, some are subjective, but others are objective. It's not a bad game, but it's not a good game either. What I'm afraid of is that Bioware want to move in the direction of interactive narratives with frantic combat as opposed to western RPGs. Which is a theme common (though not universal), for many JRPGs.

DA2 7 (no decimals required)
#14
Posté 30 avril 2011 - 04:33
Why?
1. Recycled - copy - paste - maps
2. Armor restriction Hawke
3. Many Lores and Plot Holes
4. Swarm of enemies spawning from THIN air
5. Your choice does not matter.
DA O = 8

I'm loving all the decimal places, as though the numbers were the result of an equation and not just arbitrary values on an undefined scale.
Bully for you then, some of us like to complicate matters more than others.

Obviously it is not a result of an equation but rather a person saying that it falls somewhere between two numbers. Many gaming magazines have/do use decimal review scores.
So get over it and move on.

More polished product filled with lovable companions, story, dialogues, music and overall replayability. It has it's flaws but still remains a memorable game unlike the 2nd part
DAII - 5
Small hit and major miss on this one.
QA failure
Itemization failure
Customization failure
Lack of choices that matter
Dialogue failure
Tedious grind through fedex quests (Name this game Kirkwall Marathon next time)
Game takes place in one city which is also completely DEAD
Reused areas
Less than average soundtrack and combat with variety of enemies of little to none.
The list goes on and on.....
Overall - a great sense of a rushed product. Replayability value - almost nonexistent.
Don't go making ME out of DA series EA.

DA2 = 5.5
1. Disjointed plot
2. Enemies spawning from the air
3. Recycled areas
4. Game decisions meaning nothing
5. Flat and mostly boring NPC's.
From any other small developer I would easily have rated the game around a 7.5 - 8.5, for Bioware, a company that has put out such polished and great RPG's DA2 was just unforgivable in the state it was released.

Well... I usually assume those smilies are enough to indicate that I'm joking, I guess I should use a written disclaimer from now on instead, just to be extra clear.XxTaLoNxX wrote...
