On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you rate DA2?

Da2 - 7/10, maybe 7.5 or 8 if I'm in a good mood.

Objectively speaking... (something I hate, screw objectiveness!)
DA:O- 10/10
DA2 - 9/10
Subjectively speaking though, DA2 would be about 1 point higher, seeing how I personally love both games equally.
Is "objectively speaking" something akin to, "with all due respect?" Which really means kiss my...:lol:
Eh, it's more of a "ok, if I'm going to remove all personal bias aside and evaluate this like a boring, serious reviewer...".
Although your interpretation is more fun.

DAA = 7B
DA2 = 78i/4C
So not saying what numeric base I'm using, but it isn't decimal.

I am guessing the base is between 45 and 62. Whatever it is, the ratings are out of ramge.mousestalker wrote...

DA2: 6.8 a nice attempt of trying something new, fails however due to a lack of focus(plotwise) somewhat inferior characters (although i loved Varric one of my favorites to date) sterile and dead surroundings, combat has been given a much needed bump, almost too much of a bump, and exploding enemies (really?... I think most of your audience are beyond that)
especially the exploding enemies, this is a design choice i just don't get, you needed a substetute for death blows, but.. This? why not spend your energy elsewhere?

On completing the game, I asked myself this question, which game did I prefer - DAO or DA2, and I think I would give DAO a 9 and DA2 either a 9 or perhaps a slightly higher score, underscoring my enjoyment of character development in the latter. I loved the interactions with the characters in both games, but it was more immersive with a greater number of characters in DA2. I liked the illusion that choices mattered, and that non-player characters relationships seemingly changed with respect to the PC over time based on roleplaying decisions. Both stories are memorable and ultimately satisfying. I appreciated the game designers' choice to limit Hawk's character background (fewer options than in DAO) to enable a richer story development around the chosen focus.
Some flaws that have been pointed out did detract in minor ways. Notably, I dislike reusable maps, but this has been almost inevitable since game design moved away from the tile system which I actually preferred (I know I am in the minority there too) to a stylistic/artistic area system that involves organic creation of each map. Finishing a game in a timely manner with such a system almost requires reuse of such areas. I also disliked enemies spawning in nonsensical ways from out of nowhere, and the unbelievable nature of combat with characters jumping all over the map - but I played the whole game on hard and found the combat entertaining and challenging.
Overall, as someone who seeks engaging story and difficult combat challenges, I was satisfied by both in DA2. I am sharing my opinion realizing others obviously don't agree with me, but I hope whoever reads this will recognize at least for some of us the game was quite successful.
This doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see some improvements in game design for combat or maps in the DA3, but it does mean that the focus on story and character development was excellent, and I'd like to see more of that in DA3.
Thanks Bioware, for what was for me at least a very enjoyable and successful game.

DAA - 7/10 - Thought it was exactly what I was looking in for in a follow up to DAO when I got it. In retrospect, I only completed it twice before relegating it to a box of games and consoles i'm unlikely to ever play again in the attic so that's why it got a 7.
DA2 - 6/10 - There's very little I can say on this one that hasn't already been beat to death around here, aside from the rushed feel of the game the main gripe I had and the main feeling i've been unable to shake is that the decisions I made in the game seemed to have little or no consquence on the events taking place around my character. As the third act drew to a close I was extremely disappointed at how linear the game eventually was.

DA:A - 4/10. Some very nice moments, but very boring, with boring characters and boring choices. The combat was still boring.
DA2 - 9.5/10. A wonderful game with a fantastic story, brilliant characters and characterisation and a fun combat system that allows for more re-playability than previous. A few bugs and (very) minor niggles throughout (such as: Why isn't the Qunari voice deeper? They sound very soft, on the whole. Apart from the boss one.) but little to stop enjoyment.

And I'm not counting replay value which DA2 sorely lacks due the repetitive, repetitive, repetitive maps.

DA:A - 5.5/10. Good expansion, but weak in its execution. Jarring dialog and a sketchy story didn't help it much either, and the characters, for the most part, were altogether forgettable.
DA2 - 6/10. An almost-good game with decent characters. Dialog was a bit better, though still largely desirable. A lot of lines were delivered--and written--very badly. Rang like a fanfiction at times. Weak plot and repetitive, mindless combat also left a bitter taste.
