On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you rate DA2?

DA 2 8.5
No game is flawless, I liked them both, but for different reasons.

Looks like the most common scores are - DA:O equaling to a 9/10 and DA2 equaling to a 5/10. I read the whole thread.
Clearly this board is rating DA:2 lower than DA:O.
Which is unsurprising really as all forums ratings are doing likewise. i.e. Amazon, Gamespot, Metacritic etc.
So one must conclude there IS a general consensus in that DA:2 is a worse game than its predecessor, DA:O
'Nuff said, I rest my case.

DA2 - 7.5
I'm not sure whether it was the blatant shortcuts or the sheer amount of untapped potential in DA2 which upsets me more; Bioware could have done so much more with the setting if they simply had more time.

DA:O — N/A, I didn't play through the whole game, I got bored with it.
DA2 — 7, overall a fun game, memorable characters, good voice acting, combat is okay, but it isn't a perfect game, as has been cited by others since its release. But 7 is a good rating, and with the right DLC content, that rating could improve considerably by the time it's all said and done.
So why should I have to pay yet more money for the game it should have been?

Popularity = quality?
So.. that means I should like drek like Jersey Shore, ES series, and those vampire movies? L0LZ
Nah. I'll stick with my BL and ARCs. You can have your trash like Pokeman.

I'm curious, if DA:O had no faults whatsoever, then how could DA2 improve it's combat..? You can't really improve on perfect which is what 10/10 is.John Newton wrote...
DA:O 10/10 no faults whatsoever, DA2 quite Linear but improved combat and variety of art, inventory improved.. etc, so DA2 gets a 7/10.
Not necessarily, it depends on who you ask. 10 dosn't mean that a game is perfect. No game is perfect. I don't know about you but i can always find something i don't like. If i was only allowed to give 10 to games that was perfect, i would never be able to do it because such a game dosn't exist.

Really? And you are completely sure you never selected any of the heart options under the dialogue? Because i didn't and i never had any problems with him, or Fenris for that matter. Alright there might have been a hint of interest from both of them but only the first time i met them and only once.
If this is about you having a hard time accepting that a fictional character takes an interest in your character then i don't feel sorry for you. I mean seriously, it could happen in real life too. Then what? Some men is attracted to other men and sometimes they hit on heterosexual men by mistake. Luckily, it's not very hard to open your mouth and tell that you are not interested.

Before DA II i would have told you that BioWare would be able to sell me a Hannah Montana game if they wanted.

DA2 - 8. I always thought I'm the tactic type - poring over tons of abilities, armors and weapons was okay for me. But in DA2, combat is... fast. And I enjoyed it. About copy-paste maps - well, we weren't saving Ferelden, we were just trying to earn some coins in Kirkwall, so we spent most of game in Kirkwall. We were no longer Grey Wardens, heroes, fighting awful creatures born from people's arrogance and greediness. But everything looked more... "real". Also, I thought that dialogue wheel and fully voiced PC won't suit players' taste and I was wrong. Personally, I really loved FemHawke's sarcastic and funny responses. Every cloud has a silver lining, huh?
See? This is what happens when you have no gamer friends.

Dragon Age boredom in Kirkwall: 5
The only thing I liked a lot about DA2 were the characters, although they severely lacked interaction they had potential and were decently written; I enjoyed the conversions and their personal quests.
But everything else was an utter catastrophe, the dull fetch-me quests, the boring kill-500-thugs-per-night-fights, enemy waves, the whole game playing in a boring lifeless gray city, no immersion, the extreme lack of enemy diversity, the flat story, even the music was mostly bad.....simply horrible.
I've played almost all of BW's fantasy RPG's and I have to say that this game is Biowares first failure, its far worse than the worst games they' have made in the past. I couldn't even finish it.

I'm actually intrigued why people call DAO a flawed game. What was ever wrong with it? I thought it was incredible.

It's amazing how many people are leaving their ratings with no scale in place. A review score doesn't mean anything without a scale. So, I'll use my favorite review scale, the old EGM 1 to 10 scale where 5 is the average. I'd give Origins a 10 and DA2 a 3.
Well considering the thread title is on a scale of 1 to 10 some peeps prolly don't feel the need, bit of a straw splitting there isnt it?
Not at all. Unless you provide the scale a score means nothing. The 10 is obvious, but unless I say that 5 is average, there's no way you can know what 3 is. Most places tend to review on a 7 to 9 scale which I think is rediculous. But if I were to score a game a 7 and not specify that 5 is the average, then people might take a 7 to be average, or even bad, when on the scale I use it's actually quite good. Context is important. Otherwise a score is just a number with no relevance to quality.
