I've looked around the forums for a solution to the problem I ran into, but couldn't find anything.
After having managed to (somewhat) sort the issue, I figured i'd post it up here for whoever runs into the same.

I made a custom chargen with custom backgrounds, one of which for a Dalish keeper's Apprentice.
I made a bundle of morphs to replace the normal presets, some of which including custom tats and had the problem that even though my backgrounds were all custom, I still had the chargen replacing my custom tats for my Dalish origin with regular dalish ones.

Managed to sort it by editing background.xls again and NOT using background ID 1 (which is the ID for the Dalish BG in Origins). Example:

ID    Label
int    string

0      Invalid
1      Unused1
2      CommonerH
3      CityE
4      ChasindH
5      DalishE

It now presets to the custom tat with option to pick one of the standard human ones (next dilemma, but atleast it doesn't override my custom one anymore), ID 5 is normally the human noble origin, so makes sense.

I reckon there should be some reference somewhere to what tats go with what ID, but where =)
If anyone knows of a better / more elegant solution, give a shout please.
