Forever? Not Really. Longer than 50 would be nice.

No. You don't.
Unless you take up the research of that guy in the Keep, and perfect it. Seeing he said he's reaching the end of what he can do as well.

My Mage is totally going to try though, but without sacrificing others for it.
Blood Magic itself doesn't prolong your life, but it is powerful enough to be capable of doing that. The concoction merely awakens a power in the tainted blood - because it wasn't done either, I believe.

Well he hasn't perfected it and he's 200 and somthing and doesn't look like thoes Drakspawn half breeds.

Lets face it he looks good for 200 and somthing and he was old before he started.

Let's see, what are the alternatives?

- Total oblivion (unless you're some emo vampire, no)

- Living forever on a cloud with an Abrahamic deity (boring)

- Eternal punishment by said Abrahamic deity (ow it's hot!)

- Perpetual drunkeness in the halls of Valhalla (okay this one is awesome)

- (in DA) Eternity with the Maker (the Maker is stupid, I wouldn't be seen with him. I'd catch the dumb)

- Reincarnation into a cockroach (no. just no)

I'll take eternal life thanks!

I just assumed if you drank Avernus' alchemical concoction it got you out of the 30 years and kaput lifespan.

There's also good ole regular reincarnation. You know, like the dwarves who just get re-eroded from the rock. It's like a second chance at getting a decent nose.

Sadly that generally involves losing all your previous memories.
No, I honestly would love to live forever. And in any game I can catch that opportunity, I will. (So one of the reasons I picked Blood Magic AND Spirit Healing)

I mean... there is no need to worry about time. You can become anyone you want, achieve anything you want. And the most beautiful part is to see history itself unfold. The only downside to this is that the friends and relationships you build up most likely won't last forever.

But it's one of the reasons I generally find Elves appealing as races.

Spirit Healer won't ever lead to the knowlage to live forever Blood magic on the other hand.

Actually most smart people realize the pointless repetition of living forever.

It is the not so smart people who wants to.

It doesn't no. But it offers powerful healing powers which are very useful in extending the life of a dying person.
So I can figure in conjunction with Blood Magic, it might prove to be a nice life-extender.

Questionable. It is more a matter of opinion. Saying smart people want to live forever is silly, saying smart people don't is equally silly.

But I personally very much like the 'Age-less, immune to sickness' kind of immortality. The 'unable to kill' immortality is perhaps a bit too much.

And yep, Avernus is a Grey Warden. He simply cheated the taint, and made it his power. Of course he had to suck the life out of others while doing so... which goes a little bit far if you ask me.

Oh my god.. absolute immortality would be awful! It reminds me of when *HUGE NERD NOSTALGIA INCOMING* Garlic from DBZ is sucked into purgatory just as he becomes immortal. He's stuck in total darkness but has to live with it for eternity.

The ideal immortality would be one when you can choose to die whenever you wish. Like.. you have to do the mocarina backwards if you want to die.. because just thinking about it wouldn't work.. because you can't control your thoughts!

Or how about immortal but can still be killed if hurt enough.

But what if they put you in concrete. So you can not move, huh? There goes your dance-to-death.
But yeah... personally I think Immortality is amazing, as long as you can still kill yourself if there really is no hope. Would be a little sad to be floating around in space on your own... Though perhaps interesting for a few days.
