Well as you can see its tilted a few ways. So it wouldn't seem symmetrical like in the loading screen.

The biggest issue with this I think it is makes the Reapers seem a lot smaller unless those are the Mini-Reapers we've heard about...actually yeah I think these are the smaller Reapers since they aren't much bigger than the Turian ships.

Nah, the size of the Reapers are fine. Sovereign was dwarfed by the Citadel. The Citadel is seriously ginormous.

Nice find...

I definetly see the Citadel in those pictures ( looking at the original one in GI and the loading screen in ME).

So the way we'll beat the reapers is tied to the Citadel itself. Nice!

Don't forget about the mini-Reaper lavishing the Presidium with plasma in the Arrival bad ending.

Or they'll come for you.

Also the Wards don't line up with the ME1 loading screen because the Citadel is spreadin' dem wide. =]

There's a pretty big colony on our moon... my money is that the Reapers are attacking it and you can see Earth in the background.

Unless Luna's orbit has drastically changed, it is highly unlikely.

Up yours. Where did say I didn't like it? Figure it out.

It's the moon over earth or a moon/asteroid over another world CLEARLY NOT THE CITADEL.

It's definitely not the Citadel. I don't know where it could be. I thought it was Palaven's moon but now I'm not so sure since that is indeed Earth in the background.

It's way too close to be the moon and I can't see it being Mars either, completely different colour saturation and style. It could be just concept art I suppose and artists just messing about with concepts or we'll find out either way when we play the game.

Edit: Actually, having a look at it, you may be on to something here. You can see two of it's arms. Still, it's hard to grasp what's actually going on without playing the game.

On a somewhat related note, I was checking out this pic when I noticed something weird in a different one. The pic on the bottom of page 52 has the Normandy still rockin' the Cerberus colors. What happened to the Alliance blue makeover?

It's concept art of Earth pre-Reapers, so likely it's before the Normandy gets the makeover.

Now that you mention it the 'mountains' simply look like the curvature at the end of the arm. And those does look very much like South Africa and Madagascar. As for the scale of the Reapers being off compared to the buildings, its probably because its concept art. Thats why they all look like Sovereign.

As much as it would be amazing in game I kinda hope it isn't that as it seems to be something massively spoilerific to be putting in the initial reveal.

It could just be an Earth-based space station. Maybe Arcturus has been moved to try to save Earth, but failed.

I suppose it could be Palaven, as that is described in the wiki as being like Virmire, but I thought the Reapers were attacking Palaven and the Turians had evacuated to its moon. Palaven would probably be in flames, and probably not have Africa on it.

Still leaning on Palaven's moon since we know that the Turians will be there. The fact that the continent vaguely resembles Africa and Madagascar does not mean it's earth.... the moons orbit is way too close. If I remember correctly some of the planets use map features of planets in our solar system. I think Klendegon I read was based on Mars, etc. So having 1 continent and an island of similarity doesn't make it Earth.

This is an image from http://gamenyusu.com which shows a wider angle while showing the left arm, interesting.

If it wasnt for the mountains, it looks suspicously similar, although i didnt know that certain place could move around the galaxy.

Still not the Citadel. Looking at that^ pic, the "arms" on the left & right are longer than the one in the centre, far longer. Again, the moon or orbital space station. I'm not putting too much thought or speculation into concept art, it's meant to look cool and max out teh drama.

Yes im having trouble believing its the citadel too.

But if it was, i think we can speculate on why its their. The citadel is supposed to be some form of a mass relay, now why would we need to use this to get to earth ? Maybe the reapers suceeded in closing down the relay system and the citadel bypasses that ? Maybe the charon relay was destroyed ? You can clearly see theres ships around the citadelesque structure so it would imply its some form of a relay going to liberate earth. If that is indeed earth.

Or maybe its just as people said concept art, and means nothing :P

The other arms don't look any longer to me, they just don't look the same because of perspective.

And it could be the Citadel is where they construct Reapers or is actually a superweapon they normally use and would have if it were not for the events of ME1.

As for the orbital structure idea, I don't think humanity can construct something that big, or even the Reapers can that quickly. Its also way to close to be the moon.

The arms on the right and left are longer because the "bellow" one got crushed somehow... That's why there appear to be "mountains" at the end of it... It's a crushed/squashed arm... I'm guessing it collided with something while traveling ( it's a pretty big thing to move around...)

Sorry to be a downer, but I think it's just an edited pic, showing the Earth's surface on the bottom and the Earth from orbit on the top. Although the arm's at the side look intruiging.

And I think that the pictures on the left are Palaven and it's moon, which everyone's evacuated to.

The idea that BioWare would give away the ending this soon is simply beyond belief. How the Reapers will be defeated is one of the company's most closely guarded secrets.

On the other hand, that tall white skyscraper on the center right looks a lot like the Citadel Tower.

Whatever it is, it's too close to be the moon, for instance.

So I feel strongly both ways

Edited P.S.:

I just happened to have watched the end scenes of ME1 last night on a very high computer resolution, and I don't think the Reapers are "tiny" or out of scale, either, Even Sovereign was dwarfed by the Citadel.

And that's definitely earth in the background. marshalleck's pictures have convinced me of that.
