Okay I've heard for a long time that it's possible to correct the incorrectly imported ME1 stuff, but looking at the Gibbed Save Editor, I only see a way to fix Conrad. The Consort is flagged correclty and there is no flag at all for UNC: Besieged Base.

I also heard the way to *properly* edit a save is to edit an ME2 save file, then do a NewGame+ off of that save. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

It clearly states within Gibbeds that edit/NG+ is the only way to activate the changes to ME1 plot flags. So consider it confirmed.
Also, Conrad cant be "fixed". Which mission is "Besieged Base"? Been a while since I played ME1 and cant recall it.

Conrad actually can be fixed, see this recent thread. Though, since I'm sure Bioware is aware of the bug, there's no telling how/if "fixing" his ME2 quest will affect ME3.

I believe Besieged Base is the one where Sirta scientists can die, and are always flagged as dying. No idea if it can be fixed or not, or if there is any effect on the "Sirta is having hard times" bit in ME2 even if it is.

The other improper flags (if it is indeed the flags keeping them from firing) are all related to news announcements only, IIRC.

Well, I know the audio files are in there for lots of the broken decisions. I thought Conrad acted the same even if you un-ticked it, though. I went ahead and didn't un-tick it, since it was just one decision, and if it's only gonna fix Conrad, I'm not gonna risk my save file being broken upon import into ME3.
