I like the three archetypes: mage, rogue, and warrior. Instead of spending time and resources creating a new class, Bioware should put more effort into making mage, rogue, and warrior playthroughs more different.

For example, in DA 3, choosing your class would be similar to choosing your origin in DA:O. Not only would the playthroughs differ, but certain quests would only be available for a particular class (e.g., fade quests for magi, stealth/stealing quests for rogues, proving/arena quests for warriors, etc.).

I whole heartedly agree with this. DA2 had a few of these for the types of companions you had in your party via conversation choices, but almost nothing related back to your own character. Having your own set of challenges, quests and origin depending on class would add a LOT of replay value to the games.

What Fast Jimmy said. You still get your basics but also some sweet specialisations.

Um all those examples you wrote could be done by any class. Also each class was unuiqe and diffrent in DA2 and you still had alot of freedom in building your character.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make; currently, each class has roughly the same exact quests.  I was merely suggesting that I would like to see more class specific quests, not only to increase replay value, but to give each class a playthrough that fits with the lore.

Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed the classes in DA 2, and gameplay-wise, I found them unique.  I'm just hoping that Bioware takes a step further and increases the uniqueness of each class in terms of the plot.

Three basic classes are fine.

What we need is even more specialisations.

I have always loved the monk class in NWN series. Pulling from other games I have a special place in my heart of casters with pets like a EQ mage or WoW warlock. If anything let my DA mage wear anything other than dresses. Oh and we need more bard love!
