 I've tried a few times, but while I can create my own perfect looking femshep, I can never get my male shep looking good enough and I always end up using the default. I really think there's just not enough hairstyles, and a few other choices are lacking.

I always end up with a huge forehead on my male-shep.

Could anyone give me any tips?

Keep trying, really. I still use the first Shep I ever created in ME1 because I think he looks perfect as far as Shepard is concerned.

The default asian male ME1 manshep is actually pretty decent looking (cycle presets to find him.) I've made a few good male Sheps using him as a base.

I personally cannot. However you might want to check out the ME2 faces database . www.masseffect2faces.com/index.php
Finding a face with a similar structure to what you want and modifying it helps allot.
Note: some require textmod or screwing with the save editor to get the right texture.

Well, for my part i used a face from the "mass effect 2 face database" as a basis and i tweaked it so much that in the end it looks nothing like the original face. Starting litterally from scratch is really a pain.

You need to be a freaking artist to make a decent looking man-shep. It's like every time I try, he comes out looking like a defunct insomniac. Felt like my college years before I switched out of the Graphic Design course...

Too bad ya can't use the default shep's face and work your way from there. : \\ was disappointed when I couldn't.

True enough, once I tried making a manshep that looked like me and instead I end up with a middle aged asian looking guy with a weird chin.

Everything I make always looks completely insane somehow.
