You wrongalite scum!!!

The only choices are Liara (very important character and canon LI) and Ashely (irrelevent nobody and breif awkward cameo). Kaidan doesn't count as  femshep doesn't count. A woman? Saving the galaxy? MwaHaHaHaaaa!!!Image IPB

...My snark dectector is broken. Please tell me that was snark. :crying:

Feel free to play as you desire. Just know that if you do not make the right choices your game will not reflect the real life Shepard's actual decsions.

Oh be assured my good fellow, I will be making the right choices.  I just need the forumites here to list those right choices and I will replay all my Shepards in the correct fashion as deemed fit.  It is the only way to make sure that I play the game as the developers intended.

If I do otherwise I may risk being shot out of a cannon.  Or being shot at by one.

You guys are still having this canon argument? Look I already said that Mass Effect 3 will force you to play the comic if you didn't import. Basically the third game comes with no default. There is no canon. There are no "right" choices. Just choices that Casey Hudson already said would be rewarded both ways. Trying to come up with a canon for a universe that was designed to not have a canon is pointless. The idea is for us to craft our own story. Default Shepard in Mass Effect 2 was only created to let people start the game without importing, but now we have the comic system which will be implemented in Mass Effect 3.

There is no canon love interest. There are female and male characters who have been heavily advertised to show the player that there are romantic options in the game, but never has romance been forced on the player nor hinted at on who Shepard slept with. Shepard's story will be kept ambiguous so as not to make our choices irrelevant.

Well, as far as I know "default" male Shepard has been shown making up with Miranda in the ME2 launch trailer, Ashley was also heavily featured in ME1 promotional images, but I don't know whether she was intended to be seen as the main LI.
Reason dictates, however, that Liara should be the "main" or "default" LI since:
1-She is a LI for both male and female Shepard
2-She cannot, under any circumstances die, unlike every other LI.
3-She has the most content and by far the most developed romance story out of all romanceable
characters.
I understand though that many female players possibly disagree with this because of Liara's obvious female features but I'm just stating facts. Regarding male LI's I don't really know, since there's no "default" FemShep and all male Li's can die, I guess they are all in the same ground.
At the end of the day, EVEN if there was a canon LI it wouldn't really matter as we can choose who we like.

The PS3 trailer also shows him romancing Tali.

The trailers are not canon, nothing is canon, stop looking for things that do not exist.

I didn't know that a optional subplot could be canon.

Must be some elaborate technique only the most skillful writers and artists can master.

Bad idea.

Not only was I not big enough to pleasure a cannon, but when I did finally get her off (with a trick I saw at circus) I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. And on the 4th week I found out "she" was a dude!!!

There is no canon LI. My "canon" Shepard has Liara as her LI, and that's as close as it gets.

As for a cannon, LI, I think I saw that in a Looney Toons cartoon once.

She is the canon ME1 love interest. So, yes, I guess she would be his favorite.

why are people so crazy hostile against the concept of a canon set of events to help the writers flow through the story better? makes perfect sense.

hell they probably DO have a "canon" shepard and choices they never release simply as a writing tool. then simply add in all the other possibilities.

like canon shepard is a male solider. (painfully obvious, no mention of biotics or tech powers except one SUPER minor reference to an L3 implant in ME1. and just the way scenes play out it feels alot more natural for a male than female.) then they adjust to work with other variables.

my shepard would be vastly different from the canon one, but i can still acknowledge alot of choices would have a "canon" choice and other ones. it doesnt cheapen my shepards to know he might not follow the canon path.

its like people refusing to acknowledge the fact that DA:O was obviously written with a male human noble warrior in mind as the "canon" character. yeah you can be anything but from a story perspective it just made ALOT more sense with that character.

doesnt make your version of shepard any less valid though.
i guess people are afraid of canon versions of the story eh?

Why BW says that there is no canon is because all fans would just get upset and say "Why is Ashley the canon LI and not Tali? Is it b/c she is an alien? YOU BIOWARE ARE ALL RACISTS!!!"

Ah yes of course it is Liara :) Well for me at least. The only thing canon in the Trilogy is that Shepard survives ME2.

shep making it to ME3 is basically all that i have the same, i've romanced liara, ash, miri, tali, jack, kelly, and flirted with samara (as mouch as one could)...i also have a shep with no love int, just in case i get a chance to bed parasini, wong or shiala

Poor deluded wrongalite.  Liara is CANON. That is an objective FACT supported by irrefutable scientific evidence.  The real life Shepard made sexy time with Liara and used Kelly as a temporary bed warmer.

Hey, I think the Tali romance is the best and makes the most sense, but the FACTS are the FACTS. Liara romance is CANON. Out of my 6 Shepards my "personal canon" Shepard is an Sentinel paragon who romances Tali.  As a member of the superor canonite super race, I can still acknowledge that Liara is the real life Shepard's girl and that real life Shepard is a soldier renegon. I know this hurts you... but you have got to get over yourself and your distain for the fact that if your fake playthrough can't be canon that nothing can. How selfish of you. I guess misery loves company.

I'm curious as to where you're getting this? Default ME2 Shepard romanced Ashley in ME1 after all.

There is no canon in Mass Effect. Didn't the Devs confirm this a while back. Although if there was a canon romance I'd have to say it was Ashley's
