FF, no pausing and the inevitability of allies running into FF, thus making non-pausing difficult at best....

1. Tactics are great but sometimes allies are slow on the draw, and slight delays in Heal or Barrier for example, are deadly.
2. Specifically playing a Reaver Warrior with near constant Aura of Pain active; allies who are all ranged inevitably get run too close and get trapped receiving spirit damage; with 2H warriors the range of attack makes it even more dangerous and allies carelessly get in the way of Scythe or similar talents.
3. Pulling off CCC via Varric's Disorient/Confusion cloud vis a via Assault and Scatter is nice but far too often Hawke is confused along with the enemy.
Any advice or tips here?
Cheers

2) If you're always controlling hawke you should be fine right? So just disable your tactics/remove all the ff tactics such that if you leave hawke for a bit he/she doesn't butcher your party accidentally. If you're trying to leave a 2h on tactics alone you probably don't want to be using ff talents like scythe.
3) For the disorient CCC try using overpowering fog instead. In addition to disorienting and slowing your enemies (without any ff) you can get obscured. It also allows you to run in and out of the radius (e.g. enemies which move into the fog will get disorientated after the initial throw.) This is completely based on what I've read as I am yet to try a proper disorientation setup
Hope that helps

1) Can't help you much here. Tactics aren't really my thing. The ones I use work for me mostly but I usually tend not to rely on them too much. If you're having problems with heals it might be your mabari getting in the way - it gets injured and makes your healer try to heal it (but can't) and blocks your other companions from getting healed.

click the advanced tactics link in my sig, click the compendium link for companion tactics.1. Tactics are great but sometimes allies are slow on the draw, and slight delays in Heal or Barrier for example, are deadly.
Use aggresive behavior, allies wont move. Use situational awareness when using Reaver and 2h abilities.2.
Dont use confuse. I realise this is the only form of disorient ccc availible in act 1 at the moment. But if you cant take the time to aim it manually, dont use it.3. Pulling off CCC via Varric's Disorient/Confusion cloud vis a via Assault and Scatter is nice but far too often Hawke is confused along with the enemy.

Playing Rogue Hawke, Disorient is so easy...just get Shadow, disorienting criticals and you are made...when playing a warrior...it's tougher.

Upgraded, Fatiguing Fog is fantastic; my Shadow Archer build takes advantage of it extensively. As mr_afk says, it slows enemy movement and attack speed as well as disorientating them (lower attack) and obscuring you (higher defence). On top of that, it only has a 20 second cooldown, and doesn't do Friendly Fire (unlike Confusion). And the synergy with S&S is great, because Assault and Scatter both capitalise on disorientated opponents. It's less useful for a 2H warrior (Fenris, for example, can't CCC obscured enemies at all), although Reaver gives you another possibility with Insatiable.mr_afk wrote...

A much heavier investment than Confusion, but definitely worth it

Yeah, I know it's good, just not very possible at low levels...

"Manuel! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!? GEROFF MEEEE"
For Heals/Barriers, I know it's not going with no-pause, but if you find them triggering too late just manually do it yourself. I try to no-pause, but timing Heal is so important that I refuse to leave it to tactics. That being said, to keep it in tactics, I'd have multiple Heal instances in your Tactics. Don't only have it once at the start, but have it at the middle and the end too. The issue is that if a companion is going through their tactics and has already gotten past the Heal tactic, they won't get around to it until they complete going through the tactics set and start over. So either manually do it or put multiple instances. Unfortunately there's no great solution.

Go with the fully upgraded Fog. Confusion turns your mabari on you. Learned that the hard way a lot.
