This might not be the "correct" section to post this, but I'm wondering how the game was balanced and how some mods would affect that. Specifically -
I just started a new playthrough (DW rogue). I'm using sunnie's item packs (that make a bunch of weapons etc. evolve) and a mod that removes the level requirements for talents on base trees. Both playthroughs on hard, except this one seems much, much less difficult.
Still in Act 1, so I'm just wondering if I've unbalanced my game or if the difference is down to class and companions. Rogue Hawke, Isabela, Aveline + Anders versus 2H warrior Hawke, Fenris (modded to have weapon+shield tree), Varric + Merril on my first playthrough.
If I have horribly overpowered myself I'd be happy to start over, but what are peoples thoughts?

In reality, if all the equipment you are using is all evolving and from my mods, you are using what BioWare considers balanced gear. There are some variations of some items on Nexus that are just insanely overpowered, those items really don't make the game more fun IMO. I would suggest though that you not use the mod that removes ability level requirements, that would tend to make your character overpowered for the first half of the game. What I did find that helped make the game more fun was my exp revamp, you get about 25% faster leveling and finish the game at about level 28-29, which seemed more satisfying for me. That revamp also helps see the upper part of the effective curve on evolving items a bit faster since you level a little quicker.

Thanks for the response. Good to know your mods aren't an issue, as I was really hoping to keep them. One of the gripes I had on my first playthrough was occasionally not getting a decent armour upgrade for a few levels, really hurt my warriors survivability.
I'll restart without the talent restrictions removed and maybe try your xp mod like you suggest, if I still find it too easy, I guess that'll be the push I need to set it to nightmare....
