Edit: Re: Raen's suggestion: re-installation is often a good idea. In this case, though, I doubt it's going to help, since the problem is that the installer doesn't put the key in the necessary place to begin with; it would likely just repeat the error, it reliably does so for me.

The code was actually in the appropriate spot already

That's the thing, it actually isn't. Even though the folder for the UE has the " - Ultimate Edition" added on, the game & config still look for just "Dragon Age" So to fix it, create a "Dragon Age" key (folder) under Electronic Arts which also has a "ergc" key (folder) containing the CD key string.

(You may be able to get away with just re-naming the "Dragon Age - Ultimate Edition" key to "Dragon Age" but I have no idea if that will affect things like un-installation.)

Ah, Kloreep... I think I am seeing it now. It's the UE's installer that's doing this, not something inherent to Dragon Age in general.

SHAZAM!!!!

Here is a link showing exactly what I did as described above by Kloreep (I manually added the ///Dragon Age///ergc entry beneath the Dragon Age - Ultimate Edition entry and put my key into the new ergc. - you my man are a life saver.

Now the DLC remains ativated/enabled even when coming into the game logged out! I'm a happy camper!

The DLC achievements are now also showing permantely as 'unlocked and uploaded' as well. I will mark the title of this thread as 'solved'
